Yes, this is me mostly. I just don't seem to have the mental energy or strength to stick with anything very long.
Have a bit of programming ability but mostly my knowledge is way out of date for the above reason.

I can learn things and do tests but outside of actual lessons I can never remember or apply anything I've learned. And I can never see myself doing anything with what I've learned. It doesn't feel natural.

Whenever I try something new I just immediately quit because the internet ruined my attention span and anything that isn't immediately satisfying turns me off like a light.
Now the only things I can do are literally the meme hobbies of watching anime and playing video games.

I'm a 27-year-old NEET who has literally no friends and no commitments in my life whatsoever, if I really wanted to I could spend 20 hours a day practicing to draw/paint, but I just can't for the life of me focus for longer than 2 or 3 minutes

the thing with adults learning new skills is they tend to think that they need to practice a lot in order to get good. whereas kids stumble upon things and curiosity drives them forward, to them it is mostly play. of course kids practice too.
