I basically fucked up my first time at uni, I don't want to be one of those "mate i was depressed but in reality i was lazy" posters because I was a very good student before things went south and I did have a lot of psychiatrist visits plus antidepressant medication at the time, but eventually I couldn't handle day to day activities and dropped out.
I'm going back because I've sorted myself out now, managed to make steps towards improvement and got out of my toxic family life that was the source of most of my problems. I'll be starting this September on a foundation year in engineering, but I'll be 25 before christmas.
I don't doss around and sleep in and skip classes. I get my work done and I am trying to get my life back on track so that I'm not working in waitrose my entire life. But I can't shake off doing something 6 years late.

I'm living that scenario mate. I suffer from laziness a bit, but I'm still more studious that most younger students. If you turn up and are actually interested, lecturers will normally be happy to help if you struggle at all.
My advice would just be to take advantage of the privilege of getting into uni and get on with it. You're even doing a proper, useful subject so you should have no problem, but I'd also recommend taking advantage of your uni's career services when you're settled in. Getting your cv sorted and looked at can be really helpful and they can put you in touch with industry people and such.
Age really doesn't matter that much. There are people on my course in there 40s and 50s who have worked in a car wash, etc all their life. Your experience of real life should play to your advantage in a lot of situations.

Yep, Carmel. It's literally a posh A-Level college about 30 mins by bus from Liverpool city centre. So it can be tedious commuting, but you get quite a few contact hours, so it 'feels' worth it most of the time.
You're in classes that are only for foundation students. And they basically rush through the A-Level curriculum in a single year. The teaching was good. I had one of the worse physics teachers, but was still satisfied with the quality of teaching. The maths teachers were all fantastic. My classes had a good mixture of students. Mostly people in their early 20s but a few older too.
But it is an A-Level college so if you use the general spaces (library, lunch area, etc) you will be surrounded by annoying teens. You do get a Liverpool uni card so you can use their actual libraries especially if you live in the city centre. Workload is light, and if you're fairly competent it's a nice easy entry into uni. If you dropped out before, you should know the sort of uni workload, and it was much easier than that. I'm still at Liverpool uni, but I changed course after finishing the foundation year so I'm on a completely unrelated degree now.
