Soldiers are nothing more than paid mercenaries these days. The government tells them who to kill, and they go and do it. There's no heroicism or patriotism- they might be sold that idea, but it is never the reason why a government goes to war. It's purely economical/ political. I don't have respect for idiots who signed up to go and fight in Iraq or Afghanistan. I was aware enough to make the decision NOT to join the army and fight in these wars because I saw through all the bullshit. I would love to join the armed forces, but the wars they are fighting are not worth my life. They are not keeping me safe like they say they are- they're fighting for the governmental selfish regime. There's no integrity in making the choice to do that.
