I never heard the memory thing in my short time watching. By stakes I mean its not like they can die in that world. I've played ffxiv and I like the main quest line. I would have enjoyed more floors, dungeons, quests, and bosses in SAO, as barebones as their goal was, but they turned the show into a harem even with a canon romance, when it should've been a race against declining population.
I just overall didn't find log horizon's world interesting, or its characters interesting enough. To be honest I have no clue why I watched SAO all the way through.
