i don't get it why can't they just take some old guys head like Bernie Sanders, swap blood supplies with a mechanical machine and decapitate him then he would live forever like in futurama? Why is this so hard? just add the machine bloodflow then remove the body blood flow and be immortal. Also like to stop strokes n stuff by sticking blood vesseles in the brain with like sticky tape or something.

We kind of could, it would take multiple marvels of medical technology but we could probably keep a head "alive" in suspended animation with the right machinery, the issue is that it would wreak absolute havoc with the brains function due to the fucking up (or lack of) hormonal control factors and most of the central nervous system. Not to mention the psychological toll it would take on the person.

It'd be much simpler to just regrow the organs and replace them. By the time we can feasibly cut someone's head off and keep it alive indefinitely, growing someone a few new organs will be like giving antibiotics to someone.
