We want men who can control their emotions, because men who can control their emotions will be more likely to not panic during times of emergency and thus, have an increased likelihood of survivability. Our attraction to stoic men is instinctive.

I agree that love at first sight is bullshit but girls do not like stoic men, they like men who are confident and open with their intentions. Women love men who exude natural positivity like laughter, and showing teeth whenever the smile. Women don't like shy, blank-faced men who hide their intentions behind a nice guy demeanor, smiling weakly with a closed mouth.
