To this day, I still can't believe how many normies don't understand this simple concept. When you work for a company, you represent the brand. This means if you post some lingerie shot while working PR for a video game company aimed at children, you're likely to be fired especially if working as a nude model breaks company policy.
This makes me mad not because I hate her or what she does or anything, but simply because she has been so stupid.
Many people would kill for a PR job at Nintendo, and do their hardest to keep that job if they ever got it.
She could just do modelling on the side, sure, that's her business. But she actually posted about it on her twitter that is well known and officially linked to Nintendo.
Why would Nintendo risk losing face in front of parents and customers by keeping an easily replaceable employee who's actions are a threat to your family friendly image?
There are people scraping by working jobs they hate for very little pay and no real prospects to improve their lot. People with the same qualifications (degrees etc.) as Alison Rapp are stuck because the market is pretty bad, and she throws away the opportunity of a life time because she doesn't understand a basic work/ private life detachment.

I know she was fired for advertising her nudes on Twitter (as confirmed by Nintendo who said she was fired for unapproved moonlighting) but considering the type of things she was posting, including saying "misandry isn't real", she definitely didn't care enough about the job to deserve it.

You think waiters want to serve food to people and make jokes and make people feel welcome at their job? You don't think they'd rather be doing something else with their time? Of course they would, but you have to work to be able to afford to do what you want, so you make sacrifices.
You don't go around the restaurant shouting your beliefs and what you think about everything under the sun. You keep it to yourself and express it outside of work where it's appropriate.
