Why is college so hard i want to drop out. Everyone here is so much smarter than me.

apply yourself faggot
>>
>>27524316
I wish I was a girl so I could just find a man to live with who will pay for all my expenses ;_;
>>
>>27524121
Keep your head up bro, just get to know ur professors and set time aside for studying. Biggest problem most people face is they think if they dont understand something in 5-10 mins they wont understand at all and give up.
>>
>>27524387
What if you have social anxiety and avoid talking to professors/ kids in your class??
Fuck being a robot is such a crippling existence.
>>
>>27524387
Because they're sub 110 iq idiots who have reached their limit. They're justified in giving up.

T. 110 IQ piece of shit

I don't htink you're trying hard enough op
>>
Why are you going there?
>>
>>27524463
I had really good SAT scores (2200+) and straight A's and I thought I'd fit in at a top tier school. I was so fucking wrong.
>>
>>27524401
I have anxiety too man, I just email my teachers and wear gaming shirts on the first day of class because at least in CS you meet alot of classmates that way.
>>
>>27524471
Wrong about what? This is what you've chosen. What have you been good at all this time? What do you want to do?
>>
they aren't smarter, they just try harder

intelligence isn't innate. You aren't born with things already memorized. It's about how much time you spend forcing it into your brain.
>>
>>27524497
I was just good at taking tests in high school. I was encouraged to apply to colleges. I really have no interests whatsoever and it's scaring me.
>>
>>27524508

ayy sounds like me

>super "smrt" in hs
>not actually smart enough to stand out in university + no real passion in any subjects
>graduating in like a month
>still no idea what to do wit my life
>barely made any friends

o well at least its almost over
>>
>>27524522
Seriously, what are you going there for?

Come on now, there must be a skill(s) you have, that you want to master, have profound interest in.
>>
>>27524522
I might as well transfer to an easier uni so I can actually get a high gpa and a job. My currently GPA is a 2.7 and it makes me extremely depressed.
>>
>>27524648
Everything in college feels like busy work. I don't enjoy any of my classes and don't even have ONE (1) friend I can hang out with. (I guess that might be my fault because I choose isolate myself but that's just the type of person I am).

It's hell and I feel like I'm wasting my life.
>>
>>27524121
if it's hard then you are in the right place.
>>
>>27524650
Actually it's better transfer to a community college, and get an associates, usually universities will take all your credits, especially ones with matriculation agrees.

And you've got a degree, better then those who dropped out of 4-year after 2 years.

>>27524701
If you pick a major that you can realistically do then it won't be "busy work" Yes it can be challenging but it should be because you can put in the effort and time in your subject area.
>>
Well /r9k/ I'm pretty much fucked too.

>Decide to try to turn things around and start college in the fall of 2015, hope that this'll be it and I'll graduate and get my life on track.
>First semester is hard, end up failing one class, do alright in the rest.
>Second semester is living hell, anxiety and depression get even worse than before.
>Currently failing three of the five classes I'm taking, parents talked to me and wanted to know what was going on.
>Currently $20,000 in debt, going to drop out in May.

Next I'm going to try to get neetbux and if that fails, death is my only option.

WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU'RE LIKE THIS

PLEASE TELL ME

I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING AND I'M NOT GOOD AT ANYTHING BUT I'M GOING TO SCHOOL BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO
>>
do it bro
i dropped out before the first week is over
now my life is fucking terrible
>>
They aren't smarter, the majority are just try hards at the easy stuff. Don't worry bro, just find your niche and work it. So you don't get an A or even a B on trival shit, that's not the purpose. You are good at something.
>>
>>27525188
thanks robotfam =)
>>
>>27524802
take a year off, move to where you want to live and work for 6 months-year then come back
serious
>>
>>27524121
I know this feel. Family pressure is really the only thing that keeps me going. I want to be a NEET so bad. This whole week has been a pile of shit for me. If I do bad on my math test tomorrow i'm going to kill myself
>>
>>27525297
Are you me? This Calc test will be the end of my college career.
>>
>>27524121
what are you studying bro? Chem, physics, and even comp sic probably take a lot of intelligence, others majors not so much. Do psychology, shit is extremely easy (took some classes, just so I'd have some joke classes for which i wouldn't have to go class or study much and still get high grades). Even if you're legit dumb, you should do fine if you go to all your classes and study.
>>
>>27524508
Some people don't have to work as hard to force information into their brain.
You only have a finite amount of time to force something into your brain before the test. It's not enough time for some people.
>>
>>27525314
Again why are you doing calc if you have no talent. I aced calc 2, the hardest calc class, at Columbia, and as much as doing questions helped, it also took innate intelligence. I was always super quick at math, and my mom's cousin, an investment banker, apparently had the mind of a computer.
>>
>>27525353
>psychology is extremely easy

No major is easy anon.
>>
>>27525391
no, psych is legit easy. upper level chem classes are probably 25 times as hard as upper level psych classes.
>>
>>27525314
It's nice to know that there are others out there. Maybe I fucked myself. I tricked myself and all my friends that I'm a math guy. Well shit is fucked now and the embarrassment is going to drive me insane.
>>
>>27525381
Bro I got a perfect math SAT but I can't stand the calc class I'm taking at my uni. I don't think it's about intelligence, more giving zero effort or fucks.
>>
>>27525406
You only took "some" classes. Not all of them. Sociology and Psychology requires lots of writing, working in groups, interviews and statistics.
>>
>college
>hard
fuck you
>>
>>27525443
I'm completing a minor. I got 3 As, an A- (didn't go to class, which was important), and am finishing up my lass class on perception (93 on midterm). Stats was definitely the hardest, but got an A (barely) with a fair amount of effort/studying (though didn't many classes) and a stellar performance on the final.
>>
>>27524779
I quit studying to browse the chan, but I have a test tomorrow that determines whether I am in the same boat you are

>>

I already took a year off, working but living at home because I'm poor. I have a decent amount of money saved up but like I said I'm poor so all college tuition is coming out of my pocket/loans, I don't even own a car, my deadbeat parents aren't paying a cent for anything, no college fund nothing. My future is terrifying.

I just don't know what to do. I don't want to work. I'm not good at anything.
>>
>>27525536
I doubt it, I don't look masculine at all. Rather a bit too feminine. Gays don't like feminine guys.
>>
>>27524121
Whats your major pham? I fell for the stem meme and am trying to survive. I dont think I will make it.
>>
>>27524121
Stop comparing yourself to everyone, famine. I had a problem with it most of my life and it really fucked up my ability to actually study, so I tried to just filter my thoughts and not give a fuck. Now, when I see someone much smarter than me I just change the subject in my mind and continue with my day with a clear head.
>>
>>27525557
>Gays don't like feminine guys
You're so wrong, gay love twinks, if you look feminine enough you could be the bottom of some manly man who would treat you like his wife.
>>
Any tips for a bipolar/autistic/anxiety ridden 19yo second semester student?
>>
>>27525570
>you could be the bottom of some manly man who would treat you like his wife.

I want to believe this but most gay guys just want a quick fuck. They have grindr and shit for whenever they feel lonely...
>>
>>27525579
Attend all classes. Go to the library every day to study do classes. Treat school like a job, and don't worry about socializing.

>>
>>27525621
What else can I do? I lost my football scholarship and parents been pushing college on me. They don't even have money to finance me and are making me take out loans. Anything above minimum wage requires a bachelor and those are still shit pay/entry jobs. I have no talents or business skills. There's not much for me to do but drink the Kool aid. The only way out is if I win the lottery or my novel takes off.
>>
>>27525680
Jokes on you, you'll work there anyways. Unless you're a true robot autist, in which case you'll never work at all, which is its own special kind of hell.

dude that's 10 above the American average, that's enough to get good grades.
>>

Lmao no. You just grasped the concepts slightly faster. That doesnt make you intelligent.
>>
>>27525643
>>27525680

If you just want to get prepared for a good paying job get a trade or go to community or technical college(trades are offered there too). With the 2-year degree you can later on go to college or university if you wish; they are also good if you can't afford expensive tuition or need to get your grades up to go to a 4-year institution.

Bachelors degrees in general prepare you for graduate school, however Bachelors of science(or Bachelors of business administration) are more applied further preparing you for a specific job or profession.
>>
Undergrad is supposed to be easy busy work. For technical, demanding courses like Stem, you need to study your asses off until that Aha! moment clicks with each concept and then practice practice practice many problems until there is nothing that surprises you. Thats all it is.

Now graduate school with shit like math or physics - THAT requires intelligence and creativity that pushes your mental limits

Any robots go to a UC?

Which of the UCs is most robot friendly? I got accepted by all the UCs except for UCLA (rejected) and UC Davis (waitlisted, yeah, I don't know why, tobehonest familia).

I'm an 18 year old high school senior right now and received all of my acceptances and rejections from colleges by now. I'm thinking of choosing UC Berkeley for L&S/CompSci.

I already know I'll feel out of place in a large, liberal public university, since my high school is a small, conservative private Christian school. Plus, I'm a little more introverted and live a pretty "boring" lifestyle (no alcohol, drugs, or sex).

Overall, I'm just more anxious about social life in college rather than academics. Help ;_;
>>
>>27526611

I went to UC Santa Cruz but finished up at UCLA extension because i took too much lsd

anyway i recommend santa cruz, if you can stick to booze and not be a pothead you'll be top of the class, but the peer pressure is insane
>>
>>27526611
UC Davis is bretty good bro. It was for me at least
