I never understood why this game got so much hate. I know that the fanbase is cancerigenous but if you just avoid what other people say and focus on the game and it's message... It's incredibly beautiful... Seems that everyone just cares about the "le funny random parts" but no one aknowledges the message of forgivness that it's inherent to the game.
For me, a person that spent most of his free-time on the web hating on "Chads", "Stacies" and becoming more and more filled with bitterness and hatred this game was like a hope for redemption to me.
Again i remembered that i used to be happy and nice to people and how good it felt and that if you let yourself be consumed by hate you will just end up further in the pit.
Me a person, that never cries with movies and books i was crying non-stop during the whole pacifist run. Each step was a step towards redemption and in the end i was finnaly redeemed.
I'm glad i played this game before all the hype so everything was like a surprise to me and maybe you guys, despite hating this game should give it a try with a clean heart.

I think it was because some people who are famous in the internet enjoyed the game and then the legions of fans played because it's trendy. Basically the game became a trend.
It's a shame, the game is actually extremely good... Also i think that most people who dislike the game are those who don't give a fuck about plot and just want to kill stuff and be "badass"...

I think there's a problem where a lot of people didn't actually play it, just watched a youtuber. It means they don't get the personal investment in the story that you need and just went for "le ramdem humour XD" cause they didn't really get the personal attachment to the characters - after all, they feel genuinely like they're your friends, as the player specifically. That effect is diminished if you're watching someone else do it.
Essentially without the empathy and closeness to the world, it's harder to get attached and just becomes a front for cancerous vine compilations.

I bought it, played for like 15-20 minutes before someone on my steam friends list messaged me the major plot points and I decided it was not worth spending 2 hours when I can see the "surprise" parts of the story coming
so I returned it, and every time I tell someone they act like it's the biggest slap in the face that I returned their favorite game

There's nothing saying the character is Asian, the creator was going for a generic-as-possible mother 3 look. Gameplay is great and interesting, story is a worthwhile romp through some JRPG tropes. Suffers from some repetitive jokes and sometimes annoying characters. Replayability is notable for the multiple endings.
I'd give it a solid 7/10. Definitely worth buying.
