So guys, I was really poorly on Monday evening so ended up calling in sick to work. Not an issue, I never have time off, thought that shitting yourself was a decent reason to not be in work.
I took today off to make sure I had definitely recovered, called in again and got a text from my colleague asking if I was okay. Apparently there's grumbling about someone having to cover, plus some nosey fuck drove past my house and realised my car wasn't there. Legit reason, as I was visiting my parents on the Monday night (who live 20mins away) due to some personal problems.
So now I can't even enjoy my one day of recovering from losing half my body weight in shit because my friend has caused ultimate anxiety about me being off work.
Reckon I'll be ok? I don't want to deal with shit when I go in tomorrow and definitely not the insinuation that I'm pulling a sicky.

I got my first job through uni luckily (bar tending), and since then I have been pretty lucky based just off that. I got two more jobs within the year I was hired there (one at Spar and one at an agency for waiting tables etc) and now my cv looks decent.
I believe it's just a case of searching hard for the initial break and everything should come with that after you have a few months of experience. then you will have a well written CV proving you can work hard which is attractive to employers/apprenticeships etc. you just have to muscle through the boring first year and not give too much of a fuck about how shitty your first jobs are
t. someone who thought they'd never get a job and is probably also going to be kicked out of university.
p.s. i mentioned i had to repeat a year to someone who hired me casually and just laughed about it and still worked there for a long time. employers are human

I work as a shop assistant and desu, from previous jobs I've learned that it's fine to get on with colleagues, maybe (if you can be arsed, which I can't these days) even socialise with them, but don't trust them any further than you can throw them. Just not worth it.
Good example being how I worked for Sainsburys night shift a few years ago, got on with plenty of colleagues there and even considered some of them to be friends, but as soon as I left the job, every single one of the fuckers basically broke contact with me and couldn't be arsed.
