It would be fucking awful. The Eastern Front was the most brutal war in human history. You would be cold, miserable, and hungry 90% of the time, and if you got home your wife and female relatives would be getting raped by a Russian or sucking an American's dick in exchange for a loaf of bread, depending on which part of Germany you're from.
