It's Miyazaki though, and according to interviews he took almost complete charge of the level design, which is what made DS1 what it is. Miyazaki was pretty much absent during DS2.

As shitty as DS2 was, I still spent well above 500 hours PvPing because no matter the quality of the game the Souls series simply ruined every other videogame for me. I simply can't play any other game because they're all too boring/monotone and the same shit over and over.

Seeing Weezer on Sunday. They've been my favourite band for about a decade so it's the most I've been excited about a gig in ages. Then once that's over, heading home to watch Wrestlemania which should be a fun show or a total shitshow but I'll hopefully be entertained nonetheless.
As for vidya, I'm looking forward to Platinum's TMNT game, No Man's Sky, DOOM, maybe Quantum Break but that game looks a bit meh despite my love for Remedy's previous work.

Frame rates dont bother Sony but the PS3 could survive way longer because it was more powerful (for its time), had more suited hardware and mostly because graphical qualities of games didnt increase as fast as today.
The PS4 is barely anymore the an ordinary PC from 2013 and that really shows.
In 2-3 years, even less if VR becomes popular, it will be so far behind PCs that even terrible fps and resolution wont stop the games from looking horrible.
