I've been going through all of his fiction chronologically and just got up to "Call of Cthulhu" Saturday. I recommend "The Outsider" for robots and cyborgs, if you want to cry anyway. My personal favorite so far is "From Beyond", but the scariest to me are "The Other Gods", "Call of Cthulhu" and "The Festival". "The Music of Eric Zann" is also very interesting.

The Colour from Outer Space is my personal favorite, the scariest I've read. Listened to a great (notenglish) audiobook while camping under the sky and it really brought up the fear of the open starry moonless sky.
