Got a friend pushing me to use this, why is it so shit? Never really used it myself
>he fell for the reddit is shit meme
>>27484050
There are some interesting sub reddits.
There are youtube videos to show you how to use reddit.
>>27484077
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but you might be retarded. Reddit is in fact, complete shit.
>>27484115
It depends on what a person uses it for.
>downvote/upvote system buries any controversial (read: interesting) comments and puts the most popular (read: boring) comments to the top
>encourages a shitty site culture where people dont speak their mind or try to be original, just try to say the nicest thing or make some bland as hell joke or just a quote from a movie to try and get upvotes
>absolute dogshit site design where you have to open other tabs to follow a conversation and go on an epic quest to find different opinions
>no real back and fourth conversations like you can have on here, you'll only get a reply if you have epic upvotes and even then it'll be some dumbass pun or something copying what you said in hopes of also getting upvotes
>every subreddit is an echochamber for its topic, no outside influences bother to go there
>mods are turbo-SJW-cucks who will shadowban you for saying you dont support abortion or whatever fascist shit
theres really no point to interact with the site, I just use it as a news link service basically
>friend
fuck off normie scum
>>27484077
Wouldn't say I "fell for" something if I'm questioning it.
its hard to describe, but every time im on there i feel like the things i read have been pre-filtered for me. like someone feeds me the active threads.
>>27484128
Sounds like a mix between tumblr and youtube, jaysus
allow me to introduce you to reddit """"""""""humor"""""""""""
>>27484138
because the default setting for thread order is "hot"
edit: hot means active threads
edit 2: wow thanks for the gold!
edit 3: spelling
I've begun going there on and off but ive never quite enjoyed it. Problem is 4chan is getting drained of people from my generation or people I can relate to and a lot of new blood, which is fine but I'm not enjoying it as much as I did when I first came here.
Reddit however is a big circlejerk, everyone is trying to be polite so they won't get downvoted and everyone is trying to repeat old jokes to get the sloppy seconds of some other guys upvotes.
I just don't enjoy the internet as much as I used to.
>>27484286
time to move on to the next hideout. you know where to go.
>>27484128
this
reddit is only worth browsing for dev updates for small indie games that only ever post their shit on reddit.
AMA are pretty crap too. typically they go like
>200 questions asked in 30 minutes
>topic creator comes back in an hour and answers only the most banal questions, not anything people would actually want answers to
>>27484128
also, they will down vote memes if it's a 'serious' thread, so theres that
>>27484050
>Having a friend
Yeah, you don't belong on r9k. Get out!
>>27484050
>friend
BAIT
AITB
ITBA
TBAI
>>27484347
AMAs are a good example of how fucked the site is
>completely impossible to even read lmao, have to click on the interviewees profile and click on the context of their post to find Qs and As
>half the questions are deleted by mods with itchy trigger fingers because they dont want to offend the OP
>the other half are stupid joke questions like "who would win in a fight, a hundred duck sized horses or one horse sized duck?" because those are the most upvoted
>>27484050
Reddit is incredibly cancerous. Don't waste your time. However, 4chan is pretty shit these days too. Wizchan and 420chan are my favorites. Also,
>having friends
gtfo normie scum
>>27484431
>Wizchan and 420chan are my favorites
Wizchan is horrible and 420chan has too many boards for its userbase in my opinion.
Lainchan is top tier.
>>27484428
theres been a few cases where controversial celebrities have done an AMA and the mods didn't like them anymore than the posters, so they only left the most offensive questions possible
not anywhere close to the norm though, since I'm sure those mods get fired
>>27484128
The only time I've found reddit useful is sometimes I'll google something oddly specific that I don't want to ask for on 4chan and there will be some old reddit thread with useful information in it. I don't know how to post there, absolutely hate the karma system and site layout~ it's so clunky and disgusting
>>27484461
considering how unprofessional this looks, its either fake or a stupid high school assignment worth nothing
>>27484050
I use it for /r/sportsbook to make easy money and /r/anime to catch up on animu news. It's not too bad.
>>27484474
>>27484461
It's fucking mass communications, what do you expect?
>>27484486
the only proper way to use reddit is to use it as a newsfeed for news that is hard to find anywhere else (because people only use leddit these days)
>>27484458
>Lainchan
Didn't even know about this one, friendo. You are right, the threads on 420chan can stay up for weeks, its insane.
