I think as a developer things are the best they've ever been.

Linux is functional, supported, and mature. Contributors get to focus on adding features as opposed to patching low level functionality. You no longer are tied to some proprietary OS.
Sites like stackoverflow mean you can get in-depth answers without having to scour, or even pay for, poorly-written documentation.
Because of free services like github and bitbucket and so forth open source has become the standard especially for all the supporting libraries and tools. You're actually disappointed when you find out the source isn't available for something you plan to use. And this ultimately results in more power and additional security for the end user.

So you have this awful social media integration everywhere, but there's been some huge strides made over the last ten years that made actual development a lot more open and streamlined. The unfortunate thing is the general public isn't aware of the benefits to them. And there are tons.

People can be such negative nancies that they overlook all the positives

You faggots know absolutely nothing about the old Internet.

I remember dialing up to a terminal when only two people were allowed to utilize the connection. Pictures? Fucking forget about it. A little bit later, I remember getting a new computer with a hard drive possessing roughly 40MB (including the OS) and that was absolutely insane for it's time. Nobody ever thought anyone would ever need more than a 100MB.

The internet has changed drastically since computers became more easy to use.

Normies who previously had difficulties using computers complained to OS developers which is why all the UIs are designed for morons now.

That wasn't the worst part. In around 2010 to 2012 smartphone sales exploded, this made the internet accessible to many people in poverty. (Niggers never buy computers but always have phones). I once saw a study that showed that a way to tell someones socioeconomic class is to see their primary way of browsing the net. I blame this explosion for the general decline of the internet. I personally believe it marked the end of the information age... the beginning of the misinformation age... (being in poverty correlates to low iq.) These morons spread around the dumb untrue facts on facebook (a website that is the begining and end of the internet for some users, look it up) and other slightly less idiotic normies will start to believe it.

Wish the net would stay in 2008/2009

It all ended in 2011 for reals though.

>2011 / 2012
>not 2004 - 2008

Probably the best time in my opinion. Internet became much better in terms of speed and online gaming was much more enjoyable. 90s and early 2000s internet was fucking nightmare mode though. Slow as fuck and that god damned dial-up sound. Computers back then were pretty shitty too so that didn't help.

>90s - slow as fuck internet and everything was pretty expensive
>00s - everything is becoming faster and more affordable. Also the golden time for certain websites such as youtube, newgrounds, ytmnd, etc etc.
>10s - age of the normies. accessible internets for people that can barely rub two braincells together. this is evidenced by users on this very site who don't even bother to reverse image search for sauce.

You post this in a lot of threads. Have you ever considered that many of these associations and feelings about 2007 and beyond are simply strong person impression that you're projecting onto others?

I'm also very confused about you including Eiffel 65 - Blue in your list of videos. I mean, this came out in about 1998, and it was mostly famous for having an incredibly corny video and lyrics, not for being a good song.

The worst thing to happen in 2007 was Chanology. That ruined 4chan for years, the only reason I'm back is because of r9k.

Internet should have stopped in 2007-2008.

Which strangely enough is also when I became a reclusive NEET.
>>
internet was amazing in the early '00. no feminisms complaining about video games, no agencies hunting down people who pirate music and games, no "social media".

So this is why the internet is getting increasingly censored because of hurt feelings. The general population is invading it.
