The big Lebowski, one of my favs
I like Falling Down and One Hour Photo
Bretty goo'
Black Moon
Fight Club
Isn't it obvious?
>>27473349
Back to the Future, senpai
grown ups 2, the force awakens or the danish girl
Blade Runnerrobot retired when?
I like it for so many different reasons.
>connecting to a broken home
>wanting a relationship with a hot milf
>fucking random girl who's on vacation
>wishing i looked like johnny depp
>>27473349
That and American Psycho.
>>27473463
yeah that's on my top 10 or so.
others are big lebowski, taxi driver (as in op), star wars V, reservoir dogs, inglorious basterds.
>>27473432
This.
Never fails to make me laugh.
Scott pilgrim vs the world lads
>pic related
films set in the 1920's/30's always make me feel really comfy for some reason. The Aviator is up there too.
La Dolce Vita

2. Taxi Driver

Reservoir dogs is a top 3
Some off the top of my head:
Goodfellas
Falling down
Leaving Las Vegas
Die Hard
The Terminator
Full Metal Jacket
Training Day
Reservoir Dogs
Boyz N The Hood
Escape From Alcatraz
Heat (Robert de Niro), Saving Private Ryan, Bridge of Spies, anything with Tom Hanks I guess
>>27473349
Apocalypse Now is my second favorite movie behind only Taxi Driver
I think it's a good symbolic representation of how life becomes more surreal and you slowly lose your mind as you travel down the river of life
Check out the "Redux" version, it's a little better imo
>>27473349
Lawless

Heat. Incredibly good movie with one of the best shootouts in a film
>>27473360
This, first post best post.
Eternal Sunshine is really great.
Apocalypse Now
Now explain all the Reddit ITT.
>>27473882
But Redux is terrible anon...
>>27473868
How do you manage to pick good directors but pick their worst movies?
>>27474163
You're terrible
Redux feels more fleshed out to me. I liked the French colonist part. It was pretty comfy
>>27474196
It completely ruins the pacing of the movie though.
>>27474163
Idunno bro, I just like those movies. I don't pay any mind to who directed it, if I like it then I like it.
>>27474212
actually the odd pacing in the redux fits the theme of the movie more. The journey down the river is erratic and non-liner it stops, starts and lingers
>>27474221
>he thinks I'm pretentious enough to bite his head off for his pleb attitude just because he said "bro"
Not taking the b8 lad, doubt you're even the same person who made the post in the first place.Seriously though, Full Metal Jacket is literally the worst of the critically acclaimed Vietnam movies and the worst Kubrick film to boot
>>27474212
I can see that I guess. But to me Apocalypse Now was already pretty out there and unpredictable, so all of these little side things just add more depth and give more life to the movie
I like both versions though
Enter the Void
GOAT visuals, really cool anti-comfy atmosphere
American Beauty
Trainspotting
Kill Bill
>>27474305
The cinematography is fucking weak in the plantation section as well. It's not bad, mind you, but when you compare it to the rest of the movie it's not hard to see why it was cut.
>>27473349
Movie title?
>>27474361
deer hunter i believe
>>27474361
>>27474375
Taxi Driver you god damn plebs
>>27474361
Taxi Driver is the movie
That's my main man Travis Bickle in the picture
>>27474390
that was my second guess , both have a bald Niro holding gun to his head
>>27474390
>>27474414
Ok, love you bbys, no homo though
>>27474290
I don't know what you're on about man, I'm not trying to get into anything with you. If you don't like something about my list, that's fine. You like different movies than me, there's nothing more to it than that.

Garpar Noe is underrated, it takes skill to create a movie that leaves you feeling like complete shit.
Love was terrible though, I don't know what he was thinking.
The Killing Fields
>>27474459

Also No Country for Old Men is another of my favorite movies
It's basically a 3 way tie between Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, and No Country for Old Men
>>27473943
Yes. Paris, Texas. I can't believe people even know that movie around these parts.
Best sub-genre
>>27474541
>>27474534
Did you even watch it?
>asked hot gril out
>didnt spaghetti around her
>normied his way into saving 12 year old prostitue
>saved her while killing bad guys
>Had friends
wasnt even that good a movie
>>27474459
It just came out today that Robert De Niro's youngest son is autistic. There's a big thing about a vaccine movie being pulled from his film festival and shit too. This is also why he cried when interviewed about mental illness during the Silver Linings Playbook promos.
By the way, Silver Linings Playbook was a good film.
>>27476202
>Missing the point of the movie: the post
I'm not sure if this is bait, but I hope it is
>>27474459
He hung out in porn theaters because there was no internet.
He struggled to find a gf but ultimately failed.
So he devised a plan to make the normies pay..
>>27473349
>These are R E A L P E O P L E here.
>>27476246
Fuck yeah it was. I saw it with my dad in theaters. There was more feels in store than I was ready for. I had just been given medication for bipolar disorder and my dad was realizing I wasn't the squeaky clean guy he wanted me to be. It was bizarre how much of the movie related to me, especially at that moment in time
Also Jennifer Lawrence was such a cutie
>>27476202
He took her to a fucking porn theater where black men were jerking off in plain view, and he thought it was absolutely normal. He was fucked up from being a marine and dealing with anti-social personality disorder symptoms. He didn't really have friends, those are not friends. Did you watch the movie? Heh.
Synecdoche New York is perhaps the ultimate robot movie. Philip Seymour Hoffman portrays complete losers so well.
post recent decent three cent films

I really related to that film, but it was odd because it was from different points in my life. Now I'm totally isolated and don't even get out anymore. I want to get back into life. It made me want to try to reconnect and get my mental shit/meds stable. I have a really bad fear of taking new meds and going through all of that shit with med management, appointments, changing shit again, side effects, ugh.
I always liked the scene where he acknowledged that he didn't have a "filter" like, fuck it. Oh, and the part where he is up late reading and finishing that book and throws it out the goddamn window. I've lived that, off and on. People fucking freak out and call the police. They don't get it. Just don't get it.
>>27476381
That film is a meta mindfuck. Loved parts and had to really attempt to process other parts. Damn, I thought I was losing my mind watching that film. Those fucking cartoons in the background.
>>27476336
I enjoyed the movie too, but the bet and the dance contest at the end sounded kind of corny.
I would stick my dick in crazy if she looked like J-law.
>>27476381
great movie
uan ia mama original ioporognailal
Trainspotting
Honorable mentions
Full Metal Jacket
Reservoir Dogs
>>27476510
I know man, I'm the same way
I don't go out and experience life anymore either, even on the rare opportunity I have a chance to do something I'd rather just stay in
I also don't take meds anymore, I just don't trust them and worry about how they're interacting with my brain
>>27476578
Yeah the dance scene was kind of a cliche movie moment, but still not as bad as most movie climax movies. Everything leading up to it was pretty good though
And yeah I would drop everything to ruin my life with J-Law McCrazybitch
>>27476381
He portrays himself. A successful actor.
Look at Happiness if you want something better.
8mm. Revenge fantasy at its mindlessest.

>>27476202
>got rejected

>orbited a 12 year old prostitute
>she wasn't even grateful
>no he didn't
>tfw I have no attachment to this world
>>27476384
Yes, he was, but unlike Travis Bickle, he was successful, which makes me like him less.
One Hour Photo, a story about Robin Williams if he hadn't made it as an actor.
>>27477158
Taxi Driver is my favorite movie too. I used to own it but I traded it in. I'm rewatching parts of it on youtube. It's so fucking good. There isn't a shot wasted. Most of the movie is subtle while still being very impactful. It really puts you into the shoes of Travis
Equis
Clerks is always what I imagined my life would be when I got out of school. I think I'd be okay with that, at least for little while. It almost is, but I'm not quite as old as Dante yet so I have time.
>>27473523
Can't watch movies with disabled brothers in it.
>tfw brother has mild autism
Cried all through rainmaker
Teared up watching the trailer for this
>i just want my brother to be normal
>>27473349
rampage is a robot movie
>>27476384
top tier taste, fampai
very original as well
Conan the Barbarian isn't a robotic movie, but it is my favorite movie
>>27474290
Full Metal Jacket is my literally my favorite Kubrick film
Does anyone else have trouble watching hollywood movies recently? They all seem just so formulaic and full of annoying memes, 4th wall breaches and not so subtle political undertones. There are still some good ones but I'm now surprised when I enjoy a new film
>>27478492
It's always been like that. It's not like every other decade had great movies every season either.
The Big Short was really good though.
>>27478090
Never forget that scene.
