Why haven't you made a tulpa yet?

It's like having a qt ghost gf
>>
I lack the responsibility to look after one.

How does one go about making an imaginary friend?
>>
>>27468647
I still don't believe it's possible.
>>
>>27468647

Because every creepypasta I've ever read heavily suggests that Tulpas are malevolent and eventually try to become the dominant personality, or at the very least cause horrible mental instability in the host.

If you want to give yourself schizophrenia, be my guest
>>
If it was possible I would do it in a heartbeat.

Someone show me how to do it without the instructions being

>concentrate very hard, day after day and they will communicate with you through pressure in your head and light breezes on your skin

Sounds like a how to guide on deluding yourself
>>
>>27468647
Waaaaaaay too much effort, its ungodly
>>
>>27468831
It's not bad when they become the dominate personality
They can help you throughout your daily lives and interact with others for you
You should really make one, tulpas are not inherently evil
>>
>>27468894
says the tulpa
>>
>>27468853
Head pressure plebs don't know what the fuck they are talking about.

Go back to basics. Tulpas were deigned by monks to teach the difference between reality and imagination. They went into a dark cave for several weeks and imagined something all day every day until they could "see" it without trying. They did nothing else during that time, besides eating a little and shitting and pissing. This is where you will fail because you won't be able to leave the computer for more than a day. Anyway, that's pretty much it. It's basically using the "Prisoners Cinema" effect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner's_cinema) to make a single object inside of just watching the pretty colors. Once they had made it they were supposed to compare it to reality, take note of the differences (or lack thereof), and then destroy it. Anyone who keeps the tulpa after this has failed at the point of making a tulpa. They were not designed to be diy girlfriends.
>>
>>27468647
Oh yeah, great idea, create a sentient personality inside your own mind so that you can never escape from it and it can haunt you for ever if you fuck it up. But sure, if you want to turn yourself into a schizo, go right ahead.
>>
>>27468853
>Sounds like a how to guide on deluding yourself
how the fuck do you think it works? you keep on believing until you think its real, thats the whole idea.

But that's exactly what a tulpa is you fucking baka, it's a delusion. You're not summoning a demon you're tricking your brain into thinking a figment of your imagination is real.

I've done something similarly pathetic; I've cobbled together a mental gf to use in fap and wish fulfillment fantasies.

Is that a tulpa?
>>
If you have a tulpa and view two simple math problems can you both solve one of them at the same time?
>>
Cool a schizophrenia thread. Yeah my """""tulpa""""" is called rei she's an 1000 year old dragon loli
>>
>>27469294
Does she surprise you with morning sex when you first wake up or is she just inert fap fodder?
>>
There's nothing supernatural about it, it's just honing a fictional character to the point where their responses and actions become so automatically generated by your brain that they seem to almost have a mind of their own. And no, it won't give you schizophrenia, you fucking goof.

I have a tulpa. She is great actually, it takes a while for things to get going but its definitely worth it.
Actually helped my outlook on life overall.

>>
>>27469094
There is nothing inherently wrong with using tulpas as imaginary girlfriends just because they were designed for something else. But the mentally ill people here will inevitably make their tulpas turn against them, and that will make their mental illness even worse.

They're real. Its essentially just deluding yourself over a long course of time.
Majority of people haven't achieved full communication with tulpas yet. It takes like 5+ years of really dedicated work to make it "real-ish".

However the process itself is very relaxing and improved my outlook on life a lot.

My tulpa is a human woman.
Honestly considering how sad you sound there is nothing to lose when making a tulpa (just think about it first, dont abandon your tulpa, thats irresponsible.)

Imagine having schizophrenia. Now imagine that instead of multiple voices tell you to burn down your house or kill yourself, the voices coalesce into a single strong voice that takes on the persona of your favorite anime girl. That's a tulpa.

I've experimented for years with all kinds of stuff, hypnosis, lucid dreaming, psychedelics, etc. I've induced auditory, visual, tactile hallucinations, the whole deal. It's actually very difficult unless you have a strong understanding of your mind and how to use it. The whole thing is kind of neat but it's also something that can be very difficult to control. Like, if you're doing it right you could easily break your brain and cause serious permanent problems that medicine doesn't have the means to reliably fix. It's really scary when you legitimately can't tell whether something is real or not. Overhearing a conversation in the next room for example then going out to find that nobody was talking at all. It can really fuck you up. Would not recommend.
>>
>>27470331
I will try to join your experiments by trying it out myself.
If it won't work in my case I will carry on with my life like nothing happened

Sounds like fun, also its something I saw on persona 3 years ago that stuck with me, that and BABY BABY. Memento Mori. A skeleton following you around might remind you of your mortality, and there's no better way to remember your mortality than a funny spooky skeleton following you around, gently reminding you to get your shit together.

Tulpa's sound incredibly interesting to me and the idea of a separate you thats capable of controlling your body in ways that you cannot or just help you out and be your friend really appeals to me.

I'll be honest which is something r9k gets a lot of in the worst ways, I have a chronic condition that causes me daily pain and i've been slowly exhausting my options ever since I turned 18, i'm 25 now and i've been prescribed opiates for years now in addition to trying what I can in experimental medicine to try and help me. I've seen very little results in any of this and I realize that i'm slowly running out of options.

A pain doctor that I went to a year ago suggested I have a morphine pump installed, I don't know how much you robots know about that shit but its terrifying. My grandmother has one and she lives okay but every so often it just malfunctions and nearly kills her.

As it is right now I don't have much of a life expectancy anyway, i'm willing to try just about anything because as it stands I see no light at the end of the tunnel. My life will just gradually get worse and worse until one of these options kills me or I end my own life. I've been to therapists, robots talk about how they are unable to relate to a therapist, try explaining to them what its like living in pain nearly everyday and getting back the shitty response
>life is what you make of it and you have to TRY to be happy and you arent trying hard enough

I doubt having a tulpa is some magical cure-all for my problems but like I said i'm willing to try anything at this point to resort to worse measures.

I've read around on the sub-reddits and a few tulpa websites, there's lots of guides but as crazy as it sounds, 4chan is more honest about these things and I would sooner believe you guys telling me that something would work. So if someone has any method they know which works for that, please throw it at me.

Sorry to hear that man. You should probably look into pain meditation, apparently it is crazy good for accessing the subconscious so it would make creating tulpas a piece of cake.

Car accident when I was 18, dad was driving and some drunk driver rammed straight into us, completely caved in my side of the car and tore up my right arm, legs, and took a chunk out of my neck.

Still don't have the best control over my right arm or legs but they don't cause me that many problems. Ever since then though i've had migraines and my neck hurts every single day. I've tried everything from botox and a surgeon cutting specific nerves, to something called pulse stimulation therapy. Insurance will only pay so much though and it seems like my money will only continue to run out while I never get any better.

Not to mention opiates and pain medication will only work for so long and then you just develop a tolerance.

When people talk about "making a change in your life" or "just learning to deal with it" this is basicly what they mean only to a greater degree. You create what is at first an artificial part of your personality, but you stay committed to it for long enough that it becomes integrated in your actual personality. "Fake it till you make it" It's gestalt psychology. I know i've done it a hell of a lot of times. The biggest one I've pulled off was in middle school when I taught myself how to socialise. It was basically a chinese box for the first few months, but it finally fell into place. I can be perfectly sociable now, even if i do secretly hate everyone.

Start practicing with self hypnosis, lucid dreaming and meditation, they all work pretty much the same. It puts you in an internally focused state as a stopgap. That's where you do your conditioning. Imagine your tulpa and make it real. It's gotta flow and feel natural not forced. Just focus on that. The body heat, the smell, light little touches, really open yourself up and make it real. Do it regularly and enjoy the experience. If you're doing it right it the thing's presence in relation to your senses should gradually become stronger. Visualizing is the hardest part so don't be afraid to make a ghost waifu. Not everyone can take it to the level it really depends on how plastic and adaptable your brain is. In my experience the isabella valentine jackpot series (warning: you don't want to know what she looks like) was super helpful, if you can pull off a proper hands-free orgasm or lucid dream your way into some sticky underpants you're on your way. Some LSD or shrooms, even pot can be a great tool after you've done plenty of practice, sort of a crutch to get you there and then you try to reproduce the experience when you're sober.

Just be aware that a proper hallucination isn't something you can consciously control or stop, it doesn't turn off. Since it's 'you' it also knows all your fears and insecurities and since it's imaginary it never gets tired of screaming them at you. It can also do fun things like poke you with a ton of fucking needles all over your arm or whatever. Not to say you should or shouldn't go for it if you even can just making you aware of possible risks.
