I've been trying exactly this strategy myself for 10 days now. So far it's a big improvement and I've been contemplating never turning on my phone or checking email again. I'm 37 and an undiagnosed autist.
Autism is a horrible, horrible condition but there will likely never be a cure. People bitch about Autism Speaks but at least they have the right idea: The best you can do is simply try to prevent more autistic people from being born.
