Dragonball Z is a good place to start, it is one of the earliest mainstream animes thus is has virtually no pervy shit - find it at http://www.watchdb.net/
Bleach is also a good mainstream anime, it's a fair bit newer and the animation is 'shonen' style which is easier to watch for new fags - http://www.bleachget.org/
After that just have fun and remember you don't have to finish an anime if you don't like it and to look through episode guides to skip past "fillers" - episodes with nothing to do with the plot that the studio just made mostly because they are waiting for the manga to come out or they're doing some endorsement shit

You don't know the basics of how to use a computer, so therefor streaming is better?
Install mpv, or if you can't do that (you probably can't), install VLC. VLC is very easy to install and use, and it will play the videos properly.
Don't listen to the people from /a/ who talk bad about VLC, but at the same time will recommend you use MPC-HC and the entire mess of badly-designed shit that has to go with it.
Streaming is worse because:
1) Almost always worse video/audio quality with hardcoded subs
2) Is usually viewed through either Adobe Flash or HTML5 video in a web browser, this is slow and awkward compared to a real local media player.
3) You have to navigate through (poorly-designed) websites to find the anime, not navigate your local filesystem through a file manager which is much quicker and easier.
Basically go back to fucking reddit.

I use VLC for my video woes anon, kissanime is pretty well laid out, type in the search bar, select anime.
Hard coded subs are bad I guess but I'd rather not worry about if I have srr/ass/ssa files with the episodes.
I've never been to Reddit, and i don't see an issue with html 5 player, but if it ever becomes a problem I can stream the file to my local player.

Where did you try downloading anime from? The Pirate Bay? 2005?
You may have heard of mkv files. MKV is a container format, it can contain video, audio and subtitles, all in one file. Almost all anime released anytime recently comes with video/audio and subs in one mkv file.

Not if that program doesn't support the media formats the anime is released in.
Quicktime, Itunes, and Windows Media Player, are all proprietary garbage media players, that don't support a wide range of media formats (often because they are open and free formats, not proprietary formats created by Microsoft or Apple), such as MKV, ASS, Vorbis, Opus, etc.
What you are saying is basically like saying "If I buy a movie on Bluray I should be able to play it on any DVD player I want".

This is a very common mistake, you are mixing up a video format, and a codec. A codec is a piece of software that can decode/encode media formats, not a media format itself (Like H.264, H.265, AAC, FLAC, etc.).
