anime sucks, who the fuck could watch that shit? even the standouts of the genre have awful, awful writing.
miyazaki films are great though
Try Shinekai Yori. I loved this show, its based on an award-winning Japanese book, feels more like literature than anime....and it has RAT PEOPLE.
Squonk a best rat.
>be me
>kinda want to get into anime
>watching certain animes will make you seem like plebian faggot
>watching fanservicey near-hentai anime is encouraged

I don't like any new anime but I love to b8 weebs in every other board telling them to go back to /jp/ and /a/.
They are so sensitive they always reply with smug anime girls thinking they piss me off, when I watched berserk, evangelion and the DMC thingy.

you really can't care that much about what people think of your anime watching. you gotta be your own critic; is it shit, is it GOAT, is it in between, what? watch the things that interest you and judge them by your own metrics.
i'll admit that i used to only watch pretty pleb shit, but you see one and you've seen them all, you get sick of it naturally, and that's when you start searching around for truly unique experiences, which leads to being more of a patrician as they call it. the plebian is that which is cheap, and the stuff that has a unique vision, high craftsmanship or both is hard to make and therefore hard to find. that's part of the fun.
but get there in your own time.
