Damn watching videos of higher-functioning autists really shows to me why i faced a lot of the problems in life i had no understanding of so far. I never managed to understand why i never fitted in, why people won't accept me, i thought i was like them. But i wasn't. The weird monotone voice, weird looks to the side, repeating facial movement, damn.

I know your feel. I always question why is everyone so rude to me but now I know why. The worst part is the social aspect. Knowing the only source of escapism is videogames or hobbies. You will never have a healthy social circle where your appreciated and a sense of belonging.
Some people with high functioning autism are able to use this to cover up their autism, but it isn't sincere.

Not sure if bait, but that's not true. As long as you aren't over the edge autistic you can at least be aware that you're different, you're just not aware in the same way. Non-autists can tell right away if the way they're acting is unacceptable, autists have a hard time recognizing it as it happens. I lived my life up until around 20 years old not realizing I was autistic until one day it all just clicked and I realized. It still doesn't make it easy to act "normally" but at least I'm aware that I'm different now and I try to check myself and not get out of hand

I think some people forget how self-aware people with autism can be.
The main barrier for people with autism is expression.
They can give you the what, the how, the who, and especially the when.
But they can't explain why so easily.
It's hard to compare, to express opinion.
My younger brother is very autistic, and that's his main problem. He can learn the technicalities but he can't explain why those technicalities are important, or how technicalities relate to each other.
It's why he knows how to count and use money for example, but can't understand it's actual real-life value.

Good point. I'm autistic (somewhere in the mild to moderate area) and I'm the same way. We have a way of analyzing things and when people ask me why I think a certain way, all I can sometimes come up with is "just because that's how it is". It's pretty frustrating. And even when I do my best to explain my reasoning it usually doesn't seem like I'm expressing myself well or they're grasping what I mean

This is especially true when he gets upset. He can explain what has happened to make him upset, but he can't explain why that makes him feel upset.
So he misses a bus or a bus is very late. To most people that's no big deal, next bus is due in 10 mins, but to him it IS a big deal. Throws his entire day out of schedule, makes him anxious, he's worried he's not going to be able to do all he has planned to do that day.
This emotional buildup can end with a meltdown and cause him to self-harm.
People don't really understand that and they freak out or start interfering to him freaking out and that makes him freak out more because he's now worried he's going to get into trouble ontop. And the situation can escelate.
I've once had to get a police escort and pick him up from an ambulance. He was perfectly fine and was very cooperative, but very very confused.
