Why has no game been able to provide users with a decent friend making environment? Everything is so focused on being competitive now. I haven't made any friends while gaming since left 4 dead.

Before streaming became full of competitive esport memers. People would just stream to show their friends games or people did it for fun. It's fucking cancer now. There's only a handful of people I watch now. In my college classes people watch these eSport streams and it makes me cringe. Even my professors call them out for being cringeworthy.
