Considering staying at your folk's place is conditional on putting in work, it wouldn't be 9/hour, but rather you would have to divide a month's rent in your city, plus cost of food etc, by the number of hours a week you'd work and add that to the effective hourly rate. So if your parents subsidize you to the tune of 1000 a month, and a month of work at full time is 160 hours, that's an extra 6.25 an hour effectively, for a total of over 15.
