My wife had her son at 18 too, she didn't regret it. I don't see the problem. I have a healthy relationship with her son, he see's me like a father since his real father left before he was born.
We haven't told him yet because he's only 3, but I guess he'll figure it out soon enough when he notices his skin doesn't match mine or his mother's.
