1. It is pretty easy to use voice in it. It's all in the settings and you can either use push to talk or just have it constantly on I think.

Yeah. Have like 8 smurfs i use to play with friends that are new to dota or just for stomping, but never bothered to calibrate them. Mainly because most games are me being lich or smth with 30+ kills and still losing.
If you want to consistently climb, imho you have to find your role and just fucking destroy the game from there. Read up on all possible combos, counters, how heroes were played on previous patches, when they were broken, how people dealt with them when they were broken.
What i am trying to say, is you have to find something that works well, and is underused enough to give you advantage. If you brainlessly follow meta like everyone else, you will just stay where you are. And its incredibly important that you play your main role that you are constantly improving in.
At my mmr i can still win games with venge carry, because people are just not used to her and don't know how to deal with her.
