>Russia and USA
>Enemies

Why?

Americans are being dumbfucks about Russia. By attacking Russian interests forcing a "colourful revolution" (backed by Soros) in Ukraine in order to isolate Russia they have created an enemy where there should be an ally. And then Russia signed a treaty with China in order to provide them for gas, then they annexed Crimea, fueled separatism / pro-Russian irredentism in Ukraine and fucked USA plans in Syria.

USA could have destroyed Russian attempts in Syria technically, but the political landscape wasn't good for that.

Now Russia is an ally of China, and is probably barganing with Kerry about letting a successor of Assad if America let's them annex another two Ukrainian provinces (this time 10 million inhabitants, combined). Hell, they may even annex half of Georgia (the country).
Russia and USA could be allies in the same way that Japan and USA are allies.

Thing is Russia and the USA doesn't have conflicting interests. Russia could provide oil to USA if USA needed some, instead of the Gulf States. The only disturbing rock blocking this alliance is probably Israel. They need the US controlling and providing money to the Gulf States...

No, they can't. There isn't the same cultural history between them to warrant such an alliance.

Russian aggression works counter to the general consensus of the world of no more land grabs. They essentially shit on the blank slate that the US/Russia relationship was given some years ago. You would probably argue that the US did the same by increasing missile systems in Europe and supporting the Ukrainian uprising, but the difference is that the US did/does so at the EU's behest. The EU will always be the most important ally to the US and they help to maintain a stable Europe. You cannot doubt that Ukrainians would be better off under the EU than as a satellite state to Russia.

Why would the US care to get oil from Russia? Most of its oil already comes from the Americas with popular support in cutting down Middle Eastern imports, why would they want Russian oil?

Russia made itself a one resource country and thus one to easily hit economically. It is no fault of the EU and US to take advantage of it when Russia decides to act unilaterally.

North American/Russian/Eastern Asian alliance would be sweet.

we can finally take care of North Korea too.

Do you even?
You need some enemies to grow, you always need a rival, or some antagonist. You also need an enemy so that people will pay for defence projects, you can't R&D without some taxbux.

The problem is that your rival needs to be on a tech level comparable to yours, otherwise you won't learn anything. When the Allies harvested the Germans they got some juicy tech out of it, and the Germans were able to develop it because they were facing some serious rivals.

The Cold War was pretty much the best thing ever. You had clear frontlines, good guys and bad guys, both sides could play this game. Now that the Soviet Union is gone we have the China-Russia bloc.

Imagine if all of us were really allied. Then what? You need someone who can potentially shoot back, who can challenge your own tech. Behind the scenes they all shake hands anyway.

It's like how Pepsi owns Coke stock and vice versa.
