Presented with the question of "when did you lose your virginity", American men of all people are not going to tell the truth. The majority are going to say 16 or 17 regardless of when they lost it, because that's the socially acceptable age.
Meanwhile, women think their status will increase if they claim they didn't lose it until 19 or older. But of course a survey can't pick up the fact that they actually lost their virginity to Chad at age 14 in high school, and have been fucking various Chads regularly since.
