Writing takes just as much patience and dedication as drawing does. Plus, books are more valuable than pictures.

Depends on what type of writing youre talking about desu senpai.
In a lot of comics, the artist IS more important than the writer because the way it was written the artist had to make all the visual story telling decisions and that's more important in a comic a lot of the time. That's what people are talking about when they say Stan Lee is a hack. No one liked those old comics for the dialogue.
Kinda the same for Kill La Kill. The writing in Kill La Kill is kinda shit. A lot of what's interesting about it is from the animation and cinematography and direction.
Other times the artist and writer are equally important, other times the writer is more important.
If you're talking about just paintings/visual art in general vs. books and shit that's a dumb comparison to make, they're important in different ways, and it is stupid for artists to think they're better.
