Men are expected by society to be dominant, it's been that way at least since ancient Greece. When people say "I'm fine with gay guys I just don't like the feminine ones" it's the same thing, when there's a homosexual relationship one of the men is seen as submissive and because of that you can't accept homosexuality without accepting that men can be submissive.
