I had an experience like that with an old internet friend once, her voice sounded like a skinny white girl but she was actually a fat black girl. Felt weird for a few days or a week, but I got over it and felt normal with her again and accepted her for who she was, realized she wasn't that bad after all, just different from what I was picturing so it gave that weird pit in my stomach/sick feeling.
