Hey, I've been waiting for this kind of thread.
My dad has type 2, never goes to the doctor or anything. He's been using my dead mothers insulin thats been expired for 2 or more years. He eats nothing but potatoes and bread, and I'm not even being funny. I just watched him scarf down THREE baked potatoes in one sitting. He eats about half a loaf of bread a day and only drinks those Hawaiian punch powder packets in water.
I don't know much aboUT type 2, but how long does my dad have to live? He's 62. I've tried telling him to eat right, but he's a hick who doesn't understand why his meal choices are bad.
His logic is, if I'm hungry, I eat.

Nah, type 1 is an auto-immune disorder which basically means that for no reason your pancreas decides to stop producing insulin.
What are the symptoms of type 2 diabetes? I eat a fuckton of sugar and I have some health problems even though I'm a skelly.
