Why do normies love politics so much? Literally everywhere I turn people can't stop talking about how great bernie or trump are or how terrible the other is

I just want off this fucking ride

Look up "virtue signalling".

Somewhere over the past 5 years it became cool to be left-wing, and socially unacceptable to disagree with socialism/feminism/egalitarianism.

As a result, every normie is posting daily on Facebook about "EVIL TRUMP", "EVIL CONSERVATIVES", "LOOK AT HOW ANGRY THIS SEXIST/RACIST/ANIMAL ABUSIVE THING MAKES ME".

Gone are the days when an election could come and pass and you could not even pay attention. Now you have to tweet daily about how Bernie Sanders is the second coming of Christ or else you're a "heartless right-winger".

Why do I feel like you're trying to sell me something
>>
Clapistani culture actively encourages people to spout unsolicited opinions, no matter how inane, no matter how contextually unwelcome. It's a legitimized form of autism.
>>27351779
Don't pretend right wingers are above virtue signalling. They too write just as many idiotic comments about the Muslim Kenyan anti-white racist who's introducing Islamic gommunism in public schools.
>>
They want to belong to a group or feel intelligent. Nothing will change no matter who "wins" this fake contest, but good luck convincing loudtard of that.
>>
>>27351708
Because being a normie in essence means you have a strong desire and ability to be part of something ie SOCIETY the back way if you just assume that neither really has any effect on your life and his waist is a waste of time, but normies want to be a part of something and even more they want to think that something will have an effect on all people for the " greater good " so they pick a leader they want to worship and then heard like motherfuckers
>>
it's just herd mentality and group think

it's the same thing with sports fans who support one team and all the others are shit

>conservatives unironically believe that theyre beliefs are motivated by rational thought while "left-wingers" are simply jumping on a bandwagon

youre making it out as if not liking bernie sanders is socially unacceptable, even though he's losing his primary by a large margin, and that it's socially unacceptable to like trump, even though he's winning his primary by a large margin.

yet another poster scared the the sjw/progressive boogeyman while ignoring that, ignoring everything else, trump is an idiotic media whore that picks up whatever political opinions will garner him support

inb4 someone calls me a cuck or tells me to go back to tumblr, just like every other time someone points out that trump is a moron

Don't bother with democracy. The idiots are in the majority so it's certain they will win.

How's it working out for you? Being smart?

I'm not even a conservative, friend. I don't like Trump either.

Difference is that Trump's support is largely among middle-aged and older American traditionalists and various people who do not frequent the internet.

Sanders' support is overwhelmingly among white, middle-class people in their teens and 20s, and so if you are the kind of person who goes on /r9k/ or any other internet community, you are likely to see a disproportionate amount of Sanders voters.

The result is that among 18-30 year old normies, left-wing beliefs are the "default" beliefs. It might be different if we were analysing this from the perspective of a 40-something whose company is largely among white, working class Christians.

>supporting politics
>preffering one side over another
>thinking people care about your choice
>thinking talking about politics is the right way to keep up/start a conversation
>caring this much about your country (we know if something gets better, something else eventually drop down)
>thinking choosing "right" government will change anything

Normies don't care about politics, that's why they're normies.

Intelligent. conscious people care about politics, which is important.

Fortunately, normies are starting to take more of an interest in politics, and I honestly think it's because political nerds raise such a stink about how much of sheeps most people are when it comes to the elite ruling them and such.

After years and years of conspiracy stuff all over the internet and everyone from Alex Jones fans to anarcho-capitalists to Marxists and SJWs constantly complaining about how most people are interested in reforming society, we're slowly starting to see people more interested in politics.

Unfortunately, most of my generation voices their opinions in a really shallow, surface-level way, and are completely uninterested in politics that doesn't have to do with something some politician says (except for gay marriage and pot, that stuff has always had serious people interested in it and advocating for it outside of just the presidential election season) but that's to be expected I suppose.
