BRRRRRRREEEEEAAAAAAKKKKKK MY BOOOODDYYYY HOLD MY BONES HOLD MY BONES
Something about this album just instantly takes me back to that weird period between high school and my first year of college where everything was new and full of mystery and hope.
Whenever I feel down, I go drive the backroads in the mountains and scream along with the lyrics. It's pretty cathartic for me.The only part that sucks is I very rarely speak so whenever I do this I end up losing my voice for like an entire day.

pretty original comment right here imo

wow anon, I also had this, that other red album of theirs reminded me of the summer between highschool and university when there was still hope in a vaguest sense
and I also would scream my lungs to it

this is beta music, i can picture a childish white little boy thinking the world is ahead of him and being a huge beta to whores

>TFW you like neither popular nor artsy hipster music
>TFW muricans don't like freeform
It's the greates freeform/hardcore album ever made, IMHO

OP here, not a big fan of Come On Pilgrim, but I do really love that one long. My favourite album's actually Doolittle, but nothing can beat some of the tracks on Surfer Rosa.
Don't get me wrong, Debaser, Hey and all that are great, but Gigantic, Where Is My Mind and Bone Machine are so fucking brilliant.

Next time you go on a drive, jam out to Keasby Nights and I'll jam out to Everything Goes Numb.
Things were simpler then.

>Tell me what album always cheers you up when you're down
I have the vinyl too.
>tfw Dylan stopped spinning in '99 and I knew it was all downhill
>2001, nothing that came after ever felt the same

You just summed up my exact feelings actually...
Doolittle is more consistent and fluid with some high points
Surfer Rosa has even higher points but kind of fades in the last half
Also Surfer Rosa has some classic shit. I've been tired, Caribou, and holiday song are some of my favorites

You ever been to see them live mate? Saw them about 3 years ago, just when they'd got Kim Deal's 2nd replacement.
Still good, still the best

What songs they play. I'm sure they played the standards, but any obscure ones?

Late night summer cruisin' album right here.
>>27342201
Can't remember if I'm honest with you, they played loads of track, all the big stuff was there obviously; Debaser, Letter to Memphis, Rock Music, Monkey Gone To Heaven etc.
I do recall them playing a few track from those EPs that later became Indie Cindy. It was their Euro tour, went to London a bunch of times but eventually came to Manchester once. Even managed to grab a shirt
This album cheers me up,and it's very beautiful.
