Try not to take it personally it probably had absolutely nothing to do with you. Your mother probably rejected the woman automatically because she's a woman (and probably a married one) and rejection is automatic if she's not attracted to the suitor especially middle aged women.

By extension it might have been personal maybe she didn't like that woman and rejected her proposal to spite her personally.
