The OST of Wind Waker is comfy for me, never played the game though
My comfy games:
MH3 and 4
New Leaf
Bloodborne (Can't really explain it)
>>27334833
I wish they would just go back to their roots, Fable 2 is basically the best game in the series and it did a lot of neat things, too bad it was just really short and easy. They keep making Fable games that are just using the same universe and it bastardizes anything else.
Fuck man, the fact that they released Fable Anniversary which was just the original game with updated graphics and no additional content makes me rage.
Also, pic related is my comfy go to
Pic related and the origional donkey kong country for snes are two of my favorite video games of all time. Pretty comfy too
>>27335431
>That aquatic ambiance
reminds me of middle school sleep overs and trying to see if you can hold 6 stars longer than your friends

i need to install that at work thanks for the reminder anon
my submission is tetris, i especially liked the one on DS
I know some see it as an SJW/overrated meme. Some of that is true to an extent. But I found Undertale really comfy.
I'm making my own...
pretty comfy tbqh senpaitachi
>>27335385
Was it actually possible to surrender to Dagoth Ur?
For me it's minecraft, I can easily play it for hours. It just distracts me a lot, so maybe that's why I like it.
>>27335806
This and pokemon
Now I'm wasting time in this, offline only though.
>>27334899

I'm making a game called "Anon simulator" (replace anon with my name) where i lead myself to certain death at the hands of various vices or not vices.
In one of the endings I get to kill myself. Perhaps in another ending i fall prey to something. In another i May liver not.
It's therapy for my schizophrenia.
I miss these feels so much... I need to find a working ps2 asap

I think the development is stalled, I checked the official site recently but doesn't look like anything changed.
The game is 100% playable, I've explored all the biomes and looks pretty good so far, exploration is the most entertaining part though, there isn't much you can do besides killing some bosses and raiding some dungeon, the crafting feature is limited to few items, I've hundreds of potions and food probably I'll never run out, the materials are very common around the world.

The road so far:
>He released a really hyped early access version
>Game was okay but far from an actual complete game, you would play for some hours and it would be fun but you would quickly get sick of it unless you had some friends to fuck around
>He stopped updating the game
>Shitload of time without any update and he went silent on twitter
>On October 2015 on his twitter he gave us the first update since June 2014
>His updates are slowing down, last one was in 02/29
>The future of the game is unclear
comfy but intense
>>27335783
Me too. Onwards brother.
>>27335783
>tfw wanna make a game
>tfw no motivation
I dunno, I'm not a big fan of the popular engines out there and coding it would be so fucking time consuming. Plus, my codefu is weak
>>27335818
I don't think so, I think the nigga just kept attacking you. He went mad so it makes sense. Imagine how dope that'd be, I always felt bad for Dagoth because he was a true bro to Nerevar.
>>27336016
About a few days in, come to realize that writing and fleshing out the world is the hardest, and keeping things within a theme and maintain some type of coherent flow is also tough. I understand why it's hard to solo development, but I'm also seeing into myself which is and unexpected side benefit.
I've actually spent way more time in my head than I have punching keys, again though, it's a bit therapeutic.
>>27336637
How did youlearn how to program vidya?
I find Yume Nikki really confy, it's really a strange game but robots could appreciate it
>>27335715
This game is actually really comfy but a lot of those SJdoubleyas ruined it for me because I care too much about what people think.
The people who hate it because of those people also ruined it, calling it a piece of shit without even playing the game
>>27336733
And also To The Moon
>>27335821
Minecraft before the shitty community was great
Still play SP when im not messing around in CSGO
>>27336728
Not him, but, at risk of facing /r9k/'s wrath, if you're interested you should check out the /r/gamedev and /r/learnprogramming subreddits. There's some really good game programming books out there.
And if you really want to, you can just learn an engine such as unreal or unity, gamemaker is good for beginners.
Teslagrad was a very pretty platformer game that's like ten bucks on steam. The music is great as well, but some of the puzzles and bosses can get enraging.
>>27336796
this game could not be more trash.
>>27336728
By a simple little program called RPG maker
Basically an event sequencer. But it really teaches you about how "code/program" quests. Like variables, actions, etc that open new paths of quest lets say.
Take a game like a walking dead /tell tale game. The secret behind the veil is the sequencing of the events and the patching to end.
Right now that's what I'm working on, but there's also the battle system -like FF jrpg et al. That can be incorporated as well.
My attempt is more story driven than battle driven, but you can make very advanced turn based systems that are actually quite fun and challenging. Look up RPG maker on YouTube
Inb4 shilling. Never once mentioned what I was using till now.
>>27336796
To the moon definitely an RM game.
who /Gex/ here?
not the best game of all time, but it sure is comfy
>tfw laying down /comfy/ charging air orbs

>>27337338

Pixel Piracy is very comfy,
Nothing like sailing the open seas with your crew
>>27337338
N64 had some great adventure/platformers
The mix of colorful environments, floaty gameplay, funny ennemies and 10/10 music makes Halo games really comfy imo.
Halo 2 is probably the most enjoyable shooter i've played, Halo Delta and Regret are pure gold.

Back at you brotha! I had vxace, but now using the mv. I liked the idea of making a "game" then giving it to friends to play on their phones.
Kind of like making jokes about yourself, I don't mind people laughing at me and especially its my humor. So even if they game it a go for 5 mins I'd still feel happy because at least they gave it a look.

space games are p comfy
>>27334745
Suikoden, Grandia, Diablo II
I find Cyberpunk and space games strangely relaxing even if they feature stressful combat because there is something about dim lights, darkness, and the faint sound of machinery that just puts me completely at ease. I recommend Halfway on Steam for example, 2D sci-fi pixel art is ubercomfy imho.
>>27335990
I came in here to post Dark Cloud 2which was superior, in my opinion

we <3 katamari is the best version but the first one is fun too.
Comfy and original.
>>27337338
That game used to make me nauseous as a kid and I don't really know why.
Grandia for the Playstation 1.
Found it pretty funny and not terribly challenging for the most part.
Stalker is pretty comfy, if you like those kind of games.
>>27336038
agreed. first one was very atmospherically pleasing over the rest

This is a great action RPG.
Decent graphics. Also the professor looks like Dr. Andonuts from EarthBound
I miss everquest. I remember raiding with an AU guild while I lived in the Midwest. 3 am Central raid times made junior high weekends enjoyable. Plain of Time raids, PoFire grinding. Fuck.. I miss this place.
suprised no one's mentioned Okami, every once in awhile when my cousin is in town i score some mushrooms off him and play this game all night
>>27340898
Ps2 had the comfiest games.
It's sad that there's no more innovation in the video games anymore. Everything is a FPS or a rehashing or a sequel.
I just want a comfy game I can sit back and enjoy.
Driving around in GTA is really comfy. Just driving around in fast cars and listening to the radio.
>>27334745
Dark Souls 2, as long as you don't leave Majula
>>27341006
The game might be not that great. But i have to agree with you on that one. For me, its driving during the night.
>>27341149
I think the game is great though. At least the offline part. Car handling could be better.
I like driving way too fast on the high way and blasting non stop pop. I really wish I lived in Cali and this is the closest I'm gonna get.
I do love night driving too.
if you are good at it
>>27341091
Personally, my favorite area is hangman's warf. Lighting my way with a warm torch, meeting lucateel and gavlan for the first time again. It is just a comfortable place for me Idk y.
I always found most of the Resident Evil/Biohazard games to be comfy when there weren't things currently trying to kill you. Especially the puzzle and save rooms. Places like the library in the police station, or most of the private offices/dens within the nicer buildings. That's one of the things I've been missing in the newer games is the feeling of solitude and exploration. It's always the perfect game to play when you're brewing a dump.
>>27337630

>>27341407

>>27336215

i agree with you man, Fable 1 was good but Fable 2 was literally a perfect game, even now it still looks quite good for a 2008 Xbox360 game. just sad there is going to be no more now Lionhead Studios is shutting down. fuck Microsoft.

I love city-building games, but Banished has a special place in my heart. You get to build a comfy 1800s town in the middle of the wilderness whose only contact with the outside world is the occasional trader who comes down the river every few months. Every villager is religious and hard-working, every qt girl is a virgin, and life is good. Every time I complete a village, I think "this is how life was meant to be".
And whenever my village starves, I blame it on feminism.
>>27342009
nah, its a lot like fable 1 just with more World of Warcraft-ish type graphics. every building looks a little chubby if they makes sense. Character designs look the same as fable 3 if you have played it. i would recommend you play it if you enjoyed fable 1 or 3
>>27341900
Never thought I'd find someone else who did the same thing as me. I even bought the piano sheets for all the songs from him and learned how to play valse.
>>27342267
The games pretty obscure. I saw a friend playing it at a LAN and loved what I was hearing. I never really figured out the point of the game, though. It's a nice, peaceful game, though.
>>27334899
Spyro: YOTD was the worst title imo. Spyro the Dragon and Ripto's Rage were pretty great.

Thank you, scotch
Whenever I feel like shit and need to take my mind off life I play through a 3D platformer, J&D is a top tier choice.
I used to play this game with my sister when we were younger. I think the objective of the game was to race but instead we'd just drive around the map randomly which was huge. There were secret things hidden around the map, like a little area high up one of the mountains that was completely on fire. We used to spend hours just driving around exploring.

1. pic and song related
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuYxo66AbSI
After a hard days jobs, stumbling into the Duty controlled city and resting is comfy as hell
2.OSRS
My childhood. The game is boring now but I bot it in another window and its still comfy as hell. Sometimes I turn off the bot and do quests and suff.
3.WoW
My early teens. Very enjoyable, especially with a vanilla private server. Nothing like Entering dun morough for the first time
4.Pokemon emerald
I played fire red as a kid, but emerald was the first game I really got into deapth with. I remember being on the swim team in the 3rd grade and playing that game during meets waiting for my event. Good times.
5. League of legends
When I got out of sports, started watching anime and being a fag in general, I got bullied a lot. I found refuge in playing leauge from when I got home from school at 3pm until midnight, fapping to leauge hentai, waking up at 6, fapping to leauge hentai, devising strategys on the bus, watching lcs in class, all that shit. Game was stressful as hell then, But I still remember hanging out with the weird kids in the bad part of town smoking weed for the first time and playing leauge. I was doing drugs before all the chads, then I stopped when they all started. I also started becoming athletic when chad became some skinny artsy fuck who smokes clove cigs. damn shame. At least im physically ready for sof give another 6 months
6. Oblivion
I got in too late for morrowind, this was my first es game. Played a ranged charterer. Spent most of my time stealing shit. Only closed 3 gates before finishing the game. Probably explored 10-15% of dungeons too. gotta replay it.
7.skyrim
I was a bit older, but I went into more deapth than oblivion. Too bad the game had less depth overall
8.Dwarf fortress
Not nostalgia, but building something great and then sitting back and watching your dwarves work is great. Like botting OSRS.

Zelda's fantastic.
Truth be told though I'm not too hot on Wind Waker. It's so many peoples' favorite, but it's my least favorite by far (or maybe Spirit Tracks is my least favorite). I'm not saying they're bad games, but they're not to my liking at all. Really can't get into them.
A Link to the Past might possibly be my favorite Zelda game, but I also loved Twilight Princess.
Really prefer the ones with the dark aesthetic.
Although Skyward Sword was very fun, despite its use of pastels everywhere. It made it work for me somehow, even though I normally don't like that look.

Interestingly enough, the Gamecube had tons of Zelda games and re-releases.
Zelda I, II, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask were on the Collector's Disc (I think)
Then there was Wind Waker of course, and Twilight Princess.
And then there was also uh, what was it...Four Swords Adventures or something.
>>27343877
Okay, we get it. You hate video games.
>>27345316
Twilight princess on the GameCube was the best. I wish we hadn't sold our 64, I'd love to play Ocarina of Time once again.
Mystical Ninja starring Goemon
Especially the parts in town.

Spineworld WAS the comfiest game I've ever played. It had that Ghibli vibe to it. Amazing.

What an Autist, all you didn't contribute anything to this thread aside from one word opinions. You just want attention

>Silent Hill 2
>TLOZ: Oracle of Seasons/Ages, and TLOZ: MM
>Pic related was my shit, I fondly remember playing this shit on rainy days and at night after trips to the beach.
>Early gameboy Pokemon games(especially Red and Crystal), and Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 when my cousin used sleep over at my house or when I still had friends.
>Valkyria Chronicles, I remember spending weeks locked in my room just smoking weed, drinking coffee and playing this. It also had good feels.
>Tales series, mainly Xillia, Symphonia and Graces f.
>Kirby 64.
There's probably a bunch more I'm forgetting, but these are ones I can remember right now.
>>27340739
What's so special about it? I tried playing it, did some quests, but it just felt like an open world shooter.
The atmosphere and fan art makes it seem good but i just can't get into it.
>>27346477
Use mods, it truly helps the experience. Also you might just not enjoy the STALKER experience, it isn't for everyone!!!
Alos pic related is a very comfy game
>>27342188

>banished seems pretty interesting
It is, sadly you'll find it lack of content after a dozen of hours, but it's still fun and relaxing to play
>>27346715
What do you do after you completed it once? Feels like it lacks of replay value?

Well if you liked both or either of those two classic games you owe it to yourself to try Contact.
>>27347118
Tell me about Contact, I only saw it had decent critic score.

It's an action RPG with gameplay mechanics sort of (but not exactly) like Illusion of Gaia. It's hard to explain just how the battle system works.
There are a few job classes, that give you certain special abilities
You play as this kid named Terry who has to stop an organization called the CosmoNOTs from gathering up "cells". You work with this alien professor to stop them--he needs the cells to power his ship.
It's a fun little game really. Makes me kind of nostalgic for the early 2000's.
>>27343643
This was an amazing and comfy game. I wish it was just a bit longer. I replayed it twice just to experience the comfiness again.

>tfw loved chilling in the tidepool stage.
>was really disappointed when I realised that none of that stage is procedural, so you just end up playing with the same prebuilt dev critters every time
Still loved it though.
I spent many, many hours on the Creatures series
>found Grendals much more fascinating so always raised them instead of norns by using the gene splicer to get males to start breeding
>always lost track of time trying to balance the ecology, some things would always die out for some reason
>somehow always had norns and ettins around anyway, let the grendals do what they wanted with them, they often beat them to death or inadvertently infected them with various diseases
>grendals didn't have the same diverse appearance as norns but still developed interesting personalities and passed on behaviours to their offspring
>tried to splice forcibly grendals and norns and would end up with freakish combinations that would die within minutes from congenital defects
>spent hours experimenting on norns by injecting them with various chemicals in that medical chamber
>always felt sad when I went too far and heard that familiar sad cry and sound of flatlining, would often desperately try to resuscitate them, usually to no effect
Looking back on it now, it was basically a Josef Mengele simulator for me.
>>27347274
I have disposable income, a vita and a ps4. What would be the best option to get into this series?
KOTOR 1 and 2 has its comfy moments, especially the Ebon Hawk.

No clue, only played Meruru so far and really liked it since it was about developing your kingdom by completing quests and gathering materials for those quests. So obviously all I can really say is play Meruru.
I've been playing pokemon emerald

>but a lot of those SJdoubleyas ruined it for me because I care too much about what people think.
Never got that argument. Game was a great adventure. Even better because it made me actually feel something again. How does the opinion of redditors affect you that much?
