If you're good at networking and hit that sweet spot (ie pick something like tumblr art, furry/fetishes, etc) then yes. However, it is quite rare.
It's a massive shame Egoraptor quit animating (on the whole I mean, he puts out like one or two short animations per year it seems) but it's truly the path of least effort for him. Why spend so much time animating and voice acting when you can just record yourself playing some vidya and make even more money?
