I went to a party once. They're decently big with lots of people but cram them all in a small house. All you can hear is the white noise of 100 conversations, sometimes crashing noises or laughs. Music I think but I don't remember I passed out drunk about half an hour in.

You kind of just go around the house and have the same short conversation with every person you see that you know. "What's up? How you been? Same, just chillen."

I haven't been to the normal kind of house party but there are many different kinds of parties at my university that I have gone too and then it's just everyone going around getting drunk and talking to people.
Most people have friends that they go with but there's also a lot of talking being done with people that you don't know.
There might be dancing.
If you're unlucky you might see someone making out or leaving together and that can remind you of how everyone else gets romance and sex but never you.

I've been invited a few times, never drank or got high or anything like that but yeah they were pretty fun, even if I did feel a bit left out it was nice that people actually thought of inviting me and tried to make me have a good time.

Been to quite some parties back in the day because my friends dragged me to them. I liked it but its really nothing special, people getting drunk together woo

I am partying pretty much every week, houseparties are bigger in movies than in real life, however clubs are pretty much the same
