i'm autistic but i feel empathy?

i've been playing poker for a living for about a year now - mainly live - but i also have money in an online account.

so today i'm online and an unusual thing happens a big fish sits down on our midstakes cash table. most playing at this level online are competent players so it's rare to see an unskilled player there and if they are only good for one buy-in. anyways, everyone knows after the second hand this guy/gal is no bueno at poker so it's kinda a race to see who can stack him/her first. i get KK and raise anyways she calls two streets then shoves the river. there was a potential flush, straight out there on top of this person possibly having two pair.

the only reason i call is because the two previous bets i made they didn't go all-in and i know fish well to know they're giddy to go allin when htey have a premium hand. so i called the river shove and she had air (no hand). she sat out and typed in chat 'that was all my money why you call me?'.

i felt bad so transferred the money i beat her out of plus an initial two buy-ins.

see i feel bad for people sometimes?

i don't know i just felt bad because i think it was a girl player. her name was mia. i always feel bad watching girls lose at poker because most the time they take realy weird lines and just in general play badly.

imagine what a cuck you'd be in real life.

no but seriously, the world needs more kind people, just dont be nice in stupid ways cause that gets nobody anywhere
>>
>>27297339
i mean it was only 300 i beat her out of 100 then transferred her 300 so she could have some money to play with. looking at her account she's playing on the $25 buy in tables now.

How can you be good at poker if you're this naive? I should start doing the same thing. Good idea, OP.

well i could probably teach her how to beat micro stakes just by doing an hour skype session with her as long as she has discipline to follow through with the training.

i've helped people for free in poker by reviewing their sessions etc but telling her i can teach her how to play after taking all the money in her account is much help. the line i took gave this player a second chance and they're playing much lower now so she can actually maybe grind it up.

at the same time pic related are going to be pic related

How much have you made in the past year, something livable? How long did it take you to get good enough to live off it? How are you doing online poker? Are you not in America or is there a way around our dumb online poker laws? Specific website you use?
>>
>>27297502
OP you need to think, are you just doing this because you think its a grill? be honest

i made about 30k playing live poker so far. online i've lost a little bit over 30k hands. sustainable and if you're willing to take shots and play higher stakes or big buy in tournaments you can actually become filthy rich from it.

to get good enough to live off of it i've been playing since i was 18 and always had a knack for it.

i have money on a site called americas cardroom. i'm in america albeit this site still accepts players from certain sites. haven't tried withdrawing yet.

americas cardroom

if you're in overseas i'd suggest pokerstars of course.

ya probably. i watch twitch streams before i go to bed most the male streamers are more entertaining because of their gameplay/skill but the only streamers i've given money to have been females.

Any tips for a young novice? I absolutely hated being a wageslave and poker seems like a cool way to make a living. I'm not expecting to get rich or even make as much as you, since I'd be making less than 20k/yr at a McJob anyway.

I'm almost 21, so I figure I should get gud in the next couple of months before my birthday and I can start playing for money. Is it worth reading up on poker strategies and books or is practice the best way of learning? If it makes a difference, I'm kinda autistic. I was a straight A student in school but dropped out of college because it was stressful being around hoards of people and I didn't have any direction or desire for a specific field anyway. So I'm smart in some ways, but my autism really throws a wrench in my gears sometimes. I only bring this up because you said you're autistic and I've heard about autists being some of the best high stakes poker players.

there's an internet community twoplustwo google that. they have a forum. in each section they have stick'd threads of guides, advice, etc. you can learn a lot from that site + google.

my other advice is start an online account i posted americas cardroom which is great if you're in america - they have freerolls running 24/7 that you can grind. the prize structure is very weak 10 places get paid first making 2.50 in cash then it gets smaller. the nice part about htem is you also get points for placing and at the end of the week the top 10 on leaderboard get free tickets to large buy-in tournaments. you'd have to grind them in multitude though to get enough money to start playing microstakes.

i would suggest deposting like 50 then starting on the .1/.2 tables. that would give you 25 buy ins of 2 so you could buy in full which is important as shortstacking is really only an affective strategy when playing against LAG(loose aggresive) players.

experience is how i learned everything aside from a few mathematical concepts etc. which was all learned on 2+2.

as soon as you turn 21 start playing at casino as games are super easy to beat in casinos.

at the end of the day look at poker like day trading instead of stocks you're investing in poker hands. so don't wager more then 4% of what you have. it's advised for beginners to have at least 20 buy ins for w/e stake they're playing. i feel fine with only 10 that's what i started with at the casino but it's all how good you are. there was a player isildur who used an aggressive form of bankroll managemnt and turned 500 into excess of millions in a matter of a year playing online.

he took shots at higher stakes and ran good everytime he moved up but like i said to run it up like that takes a lot of gambling and getting lucky at the right times.

also good luck.
