My friend gave me all his old Goosebumps books recently. I started reading them, and was overcome with nostalgia. These were a lot better than I remembered them (even with the now obvious shit-tier writing style that I was oblivious to in 4th grade). And I have a new found appreciation for those God-tier covers.
So, given the cool stories, great covers, massive nostalgia rush, and their massive popularity (I think they've sold over 350 million copies worldwide), and given the man child nature of this site, I have to say, there's really no excuse for not having a board dedicated exclusively to Goosebumps.
But that's just me. Would anyone else here be interested in such a board?
>>27277604
I suggest a goosebumps general would do well in /lit/ or /s4s/, though the difference between the posting constituency would be very little.
I've been thinking of buying these books recently. I recently got a wagekek job and was looking for something to spend the money on (sill live with parents). There are a couple deals on ebay right now where you can buy most of the originals for like 150 dollars or something like that. Still deciding between that and Animorphs, though.
But yeah, I'd definitely be interested in a board like that.
(pic related was always my favorite cover)
>>27277611
Forgive my retardation, but I'm not sure exactly what you're saying. Are you saying I should pose this question to one of those boards, or are you saying goosebump generals in those boards would suffice in place of an exclusive Goosebumps board?
If the latter, I think there might be justification in giving these books their own board, or at least a RL Stine board for goosebumps, fear street, mostly ghostly, etc. If Pokemon has its own board than I think Goosebumps at least deserves to have a case made for it.
>>27277628
Do it pham. Best 150 dollars you'll ever spend. Fuck Animorphs.
>pic related was always my favorite cover
I actually thought about using that one in the post pham
>>27277604
goosebumps were sweet. I still remember the choose your own scare books they had.
>>27277691
I recommend making an R.L Stein general on /lit/. The /s4s/ thing was a joke.
Man i miss great shows like Goosebumps.
I still remember when me and my cousin when we ere little kids would always rent goosebumps VHS tapes from the local library.
I recently watched all over them a few months back, and enjoyed them all.
Trying for those quints
>>27277604
Sure, and I could even believe there might be a silent, dormant, unrealized want for the board from the community at large, just waiting to be aroused.
But don't count on Hiroyuki to pick up on it.
(Pic related was my favorite cover)
>>27277719
>choose your own scare
Give Yourself Goosebumps were true master race. I remember the first one I read, I got killed by some... Giant or something, even after I gave him my apple. Made me kek hard.
>>27277746
OK, I've never used /s4s/ so I didn't know.
>>27277760
I liked the b movie novelty 90s look the show had, but overall they just couldn't compete with the based books.
>>27277836
Well he or one of the mods will pick up on it if we make enough noise about it. Let us arouse interest in it.
>>27277764
Unlucky 13 off
OP just make your own chan. I would use it.
>>27277760
kek the kids they got on that show were the worst actors I've ever seen
This was the best one. Actually p scary.
I loved that one where this kid gets a grandfather clock and goes back in time
>>27278001
>actually p scary
Right? That's one of the few ones that actually scared me as a kid.
>>27277604
Camp cold lake was the shit.
>Dat twist ending
I got literal goosebumps
10/10 literature
>>27278020
The Cuckoo Clock of Doom endingis /r9k/ porn.
I know this is the meme answer but it's the meme answer for a reason: The Haunted Mask had the best cover.
Attack of the Mutant was my favorite story though.
Did anyone see the movie? Was it good?
>>27277966
That sounds like a lot of work
>>27278086
kek I'll have to reread it
>>27278225
It is a great cover
Attack of the Mutant and Captain Underpants actually inspired me to write my own shitty comic book.
>>27278267
It's not that hard senpai. You can pay someone to do most of the work for you for relatively cheap.
All I want is a Give Yourself Goosebumps vidya game series.
I don't think there's a need for it.
Moot actually talked about consolidating boards before he left, saying the splits rose from necessity but were lazy solutions that caused their own set of problems.
Now Nagasaki has added a few MORE boards to the site. He'll fragment the communities too much. krippchann is a great example of what happens when you do that.
Like other anons have suggested, I think what really needs to happen is that you start your own chan. I'd use it. I love these books. I think they deserve it.
Also, I check /lit/ every day, and am always down to talk Goosebumps.
>>27277691
>If Pokemon has it's own board than I think Goosebumps at least deserves to have a case made for it
I agree. But I think the real solution is to get rid of the Pokemon board, not add a Goosebumps one.
>>27278309
I'll look into it.
>>27278393
For pc I hope
>>27278483
As I said above, I'll look into it. But I think the greatest way to bring 4chan culture to a Goosebumps board is to keep it on 4chan, not bring users from 4chan over to my chan.
>/lit/ is on 4chan, so talk about it there
maybe, but I do think we could activate enough of a desire for it that would not be satisfied purely by /lit/ generals. I don't think adding one more board would fragment the community too much.
>>27277604
Hell yeah OP! Never even thought of it but I would love a site like that! I'll do whatever needs to be done to make this happen! I'll samefag this idea into existence!
>>27278483
>implying we should care what Moot thinks
Good riddance to that cuckIm sorry Mootles. I'll always love you
>>27278688
>site like that
shit I meant board although when that doesn't work out and you make your own chan, I'll stop by
I don't see it happening but a Stine board would be pretty cool.
Does anyone else remember that Nightmare Room episode with Reese from Malcolm in he Middle? I need to pirate that.
>>27278742
weren't these shows Canadian? But yeah I have the vcr tape of that one.
I'll probably be buying a 39 book lot soon from a guy on Craigslist. Definitely would be cool to have a board to talk about them on besides sh/lit/.
>>27278794
No I remember seeing this on Kids WB. Found it boring at the time but I was only 6 and a pokemon fag at that.
t. Phoenix
Anyone remember this reality show from a while back? Might have been from the '90s, might have been mid-'00s. Basically it was a bunch of teenagers and they had to live together in a haunted camp or something and actors would jump out and spook them. I don't really remember the premise too well, but I want to see it again. It was all really obviously staged and over-the-top, so it got cancelled pretty quick iirc.
>>27278688
yeah samefagging and emailing the admin is all i can think of doing
>>27278742
never saw that pham. I always saw a copy of the vhs tape at my library but never checked it out
>>27278809
>Definitely would be cool to have a board to talk about them on besides sh/lit/
this nigga gets it
>>27278872
can't say i do phampie
>>27277760
Pic related was better.
OP, if you end up starting your own chan, include a board for this.
>>27278843
>kids WB
Those feels!
Does anyone remember the annoying sock? What a strange mascot in retrospect. I can see why it didn't work out.
Still, I didn't have cable at the time like all my friends, so kids wb made for some great saturday mornings. Always got depressed when the block ended and Baby Looney Tunes came on.
>>27277604
/lit/
please don't post intelligent shit here again. it hurts my brain
Any Mostly Ghostly love up in this bitch? I would support a Stine board solely for that, though would be willing to let goosebumps in since I know that's what it would take if it has any shot at happening.
>>27277604
Remember the embossed covers? Fucking nostaligia mang.
>>27278267
So much nostalgia for this one in particular, I can't even remember what any of these were about but this one really stands out as well as >>27277691
>>27278393
tfw child me going apeshit with the holographic shiny cover
>>27278935
never saw it. i heard the guy who wrote pendragon wrote for that show though
>>27278967
yeah I had cable bud. Spongebob BTFO of Kids WB. Also, there was Arthur on pbs
>>27278991
I don't get it
>>27278998
I read the first 3. The 4th one hadn't come out at that point, and I never got back to them when it did.
>>27279001
I would trace my finger along those letters until I splooged senpai (pic related was the first one i really noticed it with)
>>27279056
>the worms are the same color as the letters
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
>>27279036
Yeah Say Cheese and Die had a great cover, really cool plot tooalthough apparently he just ripped it off from atwilight zone episode
The Haunted Mask II is probably my favorite book pham
>>27277628
>Animorphs
Between the 3 thousand different incarnations of the book series (including the multiple Give yourself Goosebumps series) and all of stines other work, plus the show and the movie, there's definitely enough content for it. I'll say that.
>>27279148
FUCK YOU M80! Animorphs were the shit! They made Goosebumps look like kids stuff!
It would be a better use of the community's time than whining about no gf and Chad
Which means it's probably not gonna happen
>pic related is my life pham
>>27279223
dank Arthur reference pham
I'll admit I remember feeling that for a minute in fourth grade but I tired of animorphs really fast
Goosebumps have aged far better
Fuck animorphs
>>27279285
pic related could also be the title to my elementary school days
>>27279344
heh, the can says OP
>"OP is invisible"
pretty much every thread here
>>27279072
>Homework was never this gross before!
those awful tag lines that had nothing to do with the book. kind of shit up those based covers
all the fucking manchildren in this thread
wow it's actually making me feel better about myself
>>27279510
>manchildren
Where do you think you are?
still its not like most of the anons here are still reading these theyre just reminiscing is all
didn't the publishers jew stine out of a lot of money?
OP I wouldn't do this. Sure it can be fun to reminisce about books you liked as a kid but don't do it too much because I doubt it's good for your mental/psychological health. Also id stop reading goosebumps and Animorphs and whatever else.
I know there's Pokemon board and that is just sad 2bh pham
>>27279574
>"This board shouldn't be made because it could damage the psychological health of /r9k/ users."
>implying
>>27279148
Animorphs really did suck
>>27279612
kek

>>27277604
i can't believe i'm not only one who read this series.lol. oh, i love the lake one. but i hate the ending, never expected bernie (iirc) to be a ghost too.
Anyone else used to follow pic related? Based Troy Steele was pretty harsh on the books, but gave the good ones their dues and had some fucking funny recaps.
