I wanted to ask you guys what we can do to discourage suicide and prevent the exponential rise in suicides we are seeing around the world.
Should we make the repurcussions against the victim's family harsher?
Should we ensure all depressed people be put on constant suicide watch by a therapist?
Any other suggestions?
And btw, voluntary or involtary Euthanasia is NOT an option we will ever consider because we are pro-life.

Think of it this way. A builder builds a house sloppily but then it collapses and kills everyone inside it. Should the builder be allowed to get away scot free?
So you see, its only natural that parents face severe repercussions in the event of failure to produce productive citizens.
Make it easier to find work.
Have a place where a man can go sign up, and so long as he stays sober, he can dig ditches all day, get food and a bed, and be paid a couple bucks an hour.
This would solve alot of problems in society.

What you fail to realise is that if we allow assisted suicide, it would be open to abuse. Say a person you knew but hated and wanted them to dead, you could just make up some BS saying they wanted to die and then you got away with it.

In the papers you'd tick what sort of burial you want, cremation without actual burial being cheapest. Or if you live in a superior socialist country the government would pay for the drugs/whatever method used to off your sorry soul and its disposal. You're right, it would be abusable. You could do everything in your power to make someone's life hell in the hopes that they kill themselves, but you can do that already. But who the fuck would devise a system where it doesn't even require the actual dying ones' consent?
