Because burden of proof makes it so that when you make a claim, it's up to you to provide the evidence. Denouncing the claim isn't the same thing. That's literally the definition of burden of proof. Take any introductory science class. Even psychology.

You're just shifting the "appeared out of literally nothing" from the universe to God. If you happen to believe in Occam's razor, then we have to competing claims: 1. everything appeared from nothing; and 2. God appeared from nothing, then created everything. Yes I'm aware of the hand-wringing about prime movers/causes, which brings us to the claims: 1. everything is temporal, and appeared from nothing; and 2. reality is a mixture of temporal and eternal things, but none of the eternal things are accessible to us. And if altered states of consciousness count as "access to the eternal," then the eternal is surprisingly personalized, eh?
Really, the problem with God is that it just doesn't carry any epistemic water: it adds complexity while not actually explaining anything. I think this is what "burden of proof" arguments are trying (and usually failing) to get at.

You are not very intelligent are you? Something outside a closed system can very well create the entire system out of nothing, but the system can't very well come into being without cause.
Think of it like a computer program: You can write an entire world with rules and various characters out of nothing, but the program would never come into being itself. Where the programmer/ God came from in the first place is irrelevant for our question as to who created the program/ universe.
