For the majority of women being shorter than them will be a dealbreaker, and obviously women exist who want guys who are a lot taller than they and anything less than 6'4" is a dealbreaker, but for the majority still being just a bit taller works already. Someone maybe 1" taller or even as tall while somewhat fit will already stand a chance with women.
Of course it's much easier to just blame you being below average height (or not being very tall, if you really want to push the "woe is me" mentality) to your lack of success in romance, as it's something you can't change.
