What did you do/are you doing today to improve yourself?
Let's have a self improvement/positive thread
I got an eBook reader.
All the big goals I set such as "Get a new job", "Buy a car" and "Get license" I already accomplished. I'm not sure where to go from here...

Having a car and license means I can get a better job. In fact if I didn't have those two I wouldn't be getting the job I'm getting. $13 an hour is a lot when the most I've made is like $9/hr.

want to lose weight. trying to learn japanese

Write that down on top of a piece of paper.
Now make a numbered list 1 to 20 with ideas each on how to learn Japanese/lose weight.

>lifting for an hour five days a week
been doing this for about four years now.
>learning my third language
been almost a full year since I started
>got a TEFL certificate last year
>dramatically cut my soda intake a few years ago, mostly drink water and tea now
Still waiting for someone to notice all these improvements

>still counting calories so I can go back to being skinnyfat, at least, I'll try to get fit later/spoiler]
Losing weight goes so slowly
I don't have the energy to work out right now though
Been practicing folk songs on my guitar. I'm learning how to improvise better. Sometimes while I'm tinkering I hit a dissonant note, but I try to roll with it and make it seem like I meant for it to sound like that.
Guitar is the only thing I've got going for me, to be honest. I'd probably kill myself if I didn't have this.

>I'd probably kill myself if I didn't have this.
I used to think the same, but what does it matter anyways
I've been going outside everyday, even if I don't have to, helps me managing my anxiety.
At least a 20 min walk. Some sunlight is good for you

>interviewing for a children's librarian job
>eating a vegan burrito instead of something worse for me
Really excited for the first. I won't be all that miffed if I don't get it, since just getting more practice in for interviews is a good improvement too.

Lost 21 pounds since October, went from 270lbs to 249. Heaviest was 280 last summer. That weight sounds like a lot but I'm 6'2" and do manual labor so it's not all fat (a lot of it is unfortunately). Just cutting down on the over-eating and stress eating is doing wonders.
Cleaned my house today, washed my sheets and dishes, took out the trash etc. I haven't done any cleaning in a few weeks (other than dishwasher loads) so it feels good.
