Drinking IPA's is alright if there's no hard liquor. But most normies know it's basically wine for guys. You can only drink about 3 before you start feeling sick/full. This is why we drink light beers/regular beers in public and at parties. Light beers are also used as shot chasers. A good IPA is not overly bitter, and has an immense floral aroma. Once you git gud, you can tell some basic hop varieties apart by smell alone (citra, mandarina, and galaxy are the easiest to pin down). Most IPAs are just shitty hops water, however. It's a wonderful style ruined by people doing it wrong. Go to San Diego; try Societe or Mission Brewing; you won't be disappointed.

Depends on how strong you want it. On the lighter side, there are plenty of good cream ales (Calm before the Storm, the AleSmith cream, or the Pump House canadian cream are all tasty). For a darker, creamy beer, you basically want a nitro stout. These are very rarely bottled, and those few breweries that manage to do so usually do a good job.

But a stone IPA is like $2 a bottle and it has 7% alcohol. That is not that expensive. You could brew your own beer and the price will be around $0.50 - $1 on average. I don't waste money on any alcohol at all though.
Smoking weed is only like $2 every-time you want to get a satisfying high. So it is a lot cheaper. Just make sure to wait at least 48 hours between sessions to keep your tolerance down and it will stay extremely cheap.
Back when I was new to smoking I could smoke quantities of 1/20th of a gram of good weed to get a good high. That is less than a dollar per session.
The high is a lot better. Alcohol makes you think less, weed makes you think in a different way. And it is more relaxing.

That's what I used to think when I first tried it. I was sitting there thinking about how I prefer alcohol because it makes me confident with my ideas. That is to say I would go on this site and post like a madman. The first time I got high it took me 10 minutes to write a simple post. I was paranoid, felt weird. It was shit. That actually changes though. I continued using weed and eventually I learned how to get high properly. It's like surfing, you have to know how to ride the wave or else it is not fun. Well, I started to get really interesting ideas and now I love the stuff. If it were just about getting high and feeling good I wouldn't be using it. I love the way it interacts with my brain, the chemicals in marijuana are commonly found in your brain but you are just shifting the balance of those chemicals. It takes some getting used to, but I think it pays off. It is a much more pedantic experience than alcohol, at least for me.
The reason your mind locks up initially is because you are not used to thinking that way. You are a baby and you need to relearn. It compounds until you are just really good at it and you love it.

Well, you are capable of thinking that way without weed, but what weed does is makes everything more abstract. So you will probably be making connections that you wouldn't have made while sober. For me it almost seems manic, and I love it. I get the passion, I get the purpose, and I also get the pleasure from being high and eating good food. And those are things that I am not entirely lacking in real life, it's just that sometimes I get down and feel lacking for no reason. Marijuana helps. Those are the three keys to happiness. And it's not like it goes away when you are sober, the ideas are still there stored in your memory.

Dude, nice. There's a cidery called WildWoods in the countryside east of Longmont, and the tap room is literally a couple picnic tables, a hammock, trees for shade, and a shed. Going there in the summer and just experiencing cool beer in an apple orchard of the plains of eastern Colorado... so good.
But yeah, a friend of mine and I tour breweries as a hobby. We'll go to places, order a flight of 8-20, and share it (20 is more if we invite a third person). Usually, if we pace ourselves, we can get through 3-5 breweries this way per trip. We live in an amazing state, man.
And Breck is very solid. There's a new tap room they opened in Denver, but it's next to Grist, which is better IMHO.
