Pilot. Get to go places. The paperwork is dicks. The 'we almost died' moments are also uncomfortable.

I'm a student but had a unionized internship this summer, basically a cozy desk job for lots of money.. Definitely worth
>>
analytical chemist. get paid $1000/wk post tax to do maybe 5 total hours of work and otherwise browse r9k
>>
i'm an EMT in a hospital, and while a lot of people abuse the system and don't need to be there those days where you feel like you genuinely helped someone in need are the best feeling i can describe

I work from home. I try to find errors in software. It's a pretty easy job. They pretty much give me a piece of paper and tell me to do this or that to the software.

I wreck shit in the woods 60 hours a week for 2 weeks and then have paid leave for a month. It's fun and I spend all day listening to podcasts, new albums and shit that I want to anyways. I have 0 debt and I'm making enough money to retire by 30-35. I don't want to though. I want to drive even bigger machines.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtXOIVQXU_c

I previously sat in a subway booth 3 days a week and did nothing but watch anime and browse the internet on my laptop since everything's automated. Literally no more than 1 hours work per day of helping old people buy paper tickets. Earn enough money to get by comfortably

Delivery driver, with a regular route. Spend a lot of time driving obviously, and I'm friendly with almost all my customers so it's pretty chill. Decent enough wage for simple work and it gets me out and about with enough human contact that I don't completely forget how to socialize.

Process orders at a small courier company. I answer, confirm mails and phone calls, prepare stops for drivers, call dispatch to drivers.

There are four of us in the office and we have five drivers. Boss is chill but has his heart in the company and I guess all of us kinda do, everybody helps each other. I'm starting to feel this hardworking sentiment of my small country, and I actually respect people in these enviroments.

I guess it's a bit unsettling to be the youngest in the firm though, but at least I'm not with peer normies and I can pretend I'm one.

I sure as hell am grateful for getting out of shelf stocking and a warehouse job. Miss the forklift a bit tho.

None of these people are wagecucks working jobs, they're professional with careers.

My favorite wagecuck job was being a pseudo-janitor for the food court of a shopping mall. While everyone else actually working behind the counters of the food court had to deal with hungry assholes and idiot soccer moms who always asked to speak to the manager and vegans with gluten allergy who want to eat hamburgers, all that we had to do was to collect the plastic trays, wash the plastic trays, and then evenly distribute out the plastic trays to those places, and also clean up tables and the dining area.

People were actually quite nice to us, a lot of them would bring us their tray directly, and others would freak and profusely apologize because they spilled a bit of soup on a table.

I do, it's actually pretty neat. And up till this point I've had only 2 problematic "customers".

The first was a gypsie that tried to jimmy a locked storage facility. Bastard got what he deserved, once I buzzed in the muscle.

The second was a drunkard that had no idea where he was. Ended sharing a beer with the poor sod, after which I called him a cab and sent him home.

In short - when there is trouble, you either press a button and make it go away or you just sit on your ass, write a report and proceed to do nothing.

It's a heavy jet, so I'm basically a shoo-in for commercial airlines. When you compare the civilian path to being a pilot for the major airlines (regional or smaller pilot making enough money for bread and water, plus never home), it's not as bad as it might seem in a vacuum.

There are positive and negative parts of the military aspect, but I'll spare you my soapboxing.

This is US military.

I'm the posterchild for "Join the military, see the world"; lived in Japan for 4 years, been to 15 or so foreign countries, great assignments, but the mismanagement of the military at the general officer level is driving people out due to workload and unwillingness to address how the military affects and creates family and personal problems. Gross mismanagement of funds, contracting, and conflicts of interest. I guess that's read "corruption," if you're being straightforward.

I'm not debating US foreign policy, just commenting on the internal personnel and acquisitions management of the US military.

Well I've worked in fast food/restaurants before, and with janitorial work:

No 40 year old single moms with problem glasses who are always asking to see the manager.
No pack of Chads who wall walk in 8 at a time and call you "bro".
No 16 year old sluts who whisper and giggle to each other while staring at you
Not having retarded kids as coworkers who sit around all day and watch you do all the work
Not having different ways of doing things according to your manager, store owner and franchise owner
Not having to work overtime because the other employees are too lazy to show up on time
Not getting phone calls early in the morning on your days off asking to cover Chad and Stacey's shifts because they are totally sick on weekends and not actually hungover.
Not having to risk injury or death for minimum wage when working a supper/lunch rush
etc, etc, etc.

with something like being a janitor or a dishwasher, it's just the zen-like simplicity of just dirty and clean.
>>
Of course, it's part of basic qual.

happened like a month ago but yeah, it still kinda bothers me that I didn't do anything about his oxygen situation. A nonrebreather (type of mask, google it) is used for high flow oxygen and he was getting 15/lpm which is the highest we can give from our wall, so if your patient is still not high 90's on that shit somethings wrong, had I noticed something ahead of time we probs could've been a little more prepared for his first death, but would you really want to be in a constant state of dying? probs better for him that he passed when he did, ended a lot of pain

NEET with not job experience here, what is this? Do you get paid for it? If so, you must really dislike your job if you're not willing to cover shifts for the money.

Also, don't you get paid for over time as well?
>>
>>27178511
>>27178517

ehhh sort of but not really. No one brings their 8 hyperactive screaming kids to a night guard's desk or a janitor's night shift or telemarket's booth. Fast food is hell on earth. Retail is only slightly better, because there's something involving food that triggers an animalistic, terrotiral response in grown-ass human adults that overrides everything they were ever taught by their parents and teachers and priests and grandmas to be nice to other people.

>>27178512
Dude that would be perfect. I'm only ever looking at general job ads at like craiglist and other local job listings but there isn't shit there. I should look at the school districts' websites?
>>

>>

>>
>>27177847
irk, what is there to gain to lie on anonymous board?
i guess it makes these losers feel better about themselves.
>>
>>27178635
Yes. We do get paid for it.

The problem was that, for that particular job, I was working 9-5, 5 days a week. That was my official schedule.

The issue was that around 4 o'clock, at least twice a week, I would get a phone call from at least one of the other people scheduled to come it for 5 saying "brooooooooo there is so much traffic lmao imma be late k? chill" and I'd end up working there until 6 or 7, and getting home around 8. Sometimes until 11 at night. My feet are hurting, I haven't taken a shit in 9+ hours and I just want to go home.

At least I had weekends off, I could stay up late and sleep in. Right? No.

Again at least once a weekend, I would get a hone call asking me if I can cover so-and-so's shift because they are "not feeling well" the night after they posted instagram selfies of themselves doing molly at a club. The worst part was how those people only worked like once or twice every weekend, and I worked 5+ days a week.

The extra money was nice at first, but fuck it after a while. Sleep and my mental health is priceless.

>Also, don't you get paid for over time as well?

Sometimes. The place I worked at was sketchy. If I did take over other people's shifts and worked more than 40 hours a week I would get overtime. However if I ended up working at night, the store had a questionable policy of not paying anyone after 11pm, even if they did have to work after 11pm. One time I was stuck in the store until midnight because of some bullshit with another store.

>>27178811

So if you're not willing to do it for the money and want free time, just don't cover shifts. You can always just go home after 11 pm too, since you're getting paid for doing what you do, and if you're not, they can suck it when you do what you want.

I suppose they can fire you though, though it depends on how expendable you are.

Carpenter.

I live in a trailer on land I own with no mortgage payments at all, and I produce a lot of my own food, so in all honesty I don't need that much money so I never work very hard.

I work a few days a week when people commission me to make something fancy, like a custom bed frame or fancy carved desk, and get paid a lot for the pieces. I also really like building stuff and I get to be pretty creative so I like it. Also I'm my own boss and have no employees so it's literally drama free and I don't have to answer to anyone but the client.
