>intro to Owl City's "fireflies"
>"better off alone" by alice deejay
>vaporwave aesthetics
there's a local mini mall by me that hasn't changed interior design since the early 90s, it's like a portal back to my childhood.
>Looking at myself in the mirror.

this is odd, why anon?
>>27167378
Why do you think, anon?
A constant reminder that you'll never be that ignorant, blissfully unaware kid you once were.
Now you're just a grown up failure.
I literally wear the face of someone who was once happy to breathe the air of this shitty planet
Meatspin
>>27167403
that's pretty sad, I knew this feel once. I've since accepted the realities of growing up, and the become aware of the great mystery that is life.
Old logos and designs. Everything is so rounded now.
>>27167573
I agree, modern logo design is very minimalist and "clean" looking, it's kind of gross.
>>27167635
And don't forget all lowercase.
You will never enjoy Lego like you did as a kid ever again.
eurodance is so nostalgiac
alice deejay, whigfield, and blossom are all great
Watching weird 90s/early 2000 music videos.
I was born in '91. But this shit for some reason evokes a strong sense of nostalgia in me and I never even cared about it as a kid.
The music, the style of clothes, the hair, fucking make me so nostalgic.
>>27167831
oh tell me why ;_;

>>27167468
Yeah, what a great fucking mystery it is being a failure at life
Give me a fucking break
>>27167324
harry potter marathons on abc family really take me back to a better time. That combined with cheesy halloween/fall type decorations put me on a feels trip idk why

>>27167954
Right, because being a failure is working out so great.
Just face it anon, normal people have happier, more fulfilling lives. It doesn't matter how much you try and justify being a NEET, it fucking blows.
Also, anyone else agree life went to shit when the cellphones/internet really started to get widespread? something about the age of contact with human beings 24/7 due to social media and the internet really makes me long for the more basic days of social life
>>27168199
you better. ps nice dubs
>the smell of cheap laundry detergent (also: heartbreak)
>>27168203
I think they're preoccupied by pleasurable distractions, but it's possible to be happier than them even as a fucking "failure".
>>27168210
>Also, anyone else agree life went to shit when the cellphones/internet really started to get widespread?
User friendliness of computers basically made the user friendliness of the internet inevitable, and thus flooded the internet with normies.
However, the final nail in the coffin was social media, without that we'd still probably be pretty well off.
Growing up this was the only song I liked. For a long time I thought I didn't like music. I just hadn't found electronic. Probably not a weird nostalgic thing but here it is

I'm blue
>>27168257
I know the feeling. It was quite cringy when my mom was asking what music I like recently and the only example of music she new I liked was this song from when I was a kid.
>there's a local mini mall by me that hasn't changed interior design since the early 90s, it's like a portal back to my childhood.
same here except it hasn't been profitable since 2009 and 75% of the stores are closed. it's like watching your childhood friend slowly die.
>the smell of a leather baseball mitt (used to play baseball as a kid)
>the name "Funcoland"
And this sound which reminds me of watching origional star wars trilogy at home with my family

Shit man, I can''t believe that 2006 was 10 years ago.
>>27168299
Mine is in the exact same predicament, the only places left in it that actually survived are a post office and a hair salon, also this weird eclectic gift shop. They kept a lot of the neon signs and stuff though, so it still has a cool aesthetic to it.
>>27168362
I remember people spamming this on CS:S
>>27168288
My mom would bring up how it was the only song I ever danced to. I quickly became self-conscious about that sort of usual shit come middle school. Super embarassing
>>27168288
What do you listen to now m8?
>>27168327
If you had the volume too high that thing would fuck you up
>>27168420

Remember that feeling of being totally undocumented, disconnected and alone? As if your tiny little world really was all that mattered? You can still get that if you go where there's no cellphone coverage.
The internet was an extension of that. It was an alternate reality - sites like fusion anomaly and deoxy are still there to show you what was. There were no cues to take, so everyone did their own thing in their own way. The internet developed it's own language over the course of decades - and the mainstream ran it into the ground in less than five years.
And despite everything, the blame rests in old hands - we knew what the native, natural internet was. Yet, when facebook came out, no one - without exception - could resist it. My IRC rooms became facebook url exchanges. And then they became ghost towns.
On facebook, we made our little groups, but the lively discussion, raids, and unpopular opinions ceased. They shut the internet down by turning it into a reflection of them - the people who ruled the real world.
They can't stand unmapped territory, and it all has to be bent straight so they can draw the map easily.

Seeing my younger sister.
It reminds me of the good times-- when things were simpler and we were just kids. Mom and dad loved each other ;_;
>>27168545
>They shut the internet down by turning it into a reflection of them - the people who ruled the real world
Fuck man, you nailed it.
>>27167324
Anyone else get super nostalgic when they see or go into an IKEA?
I remember going in there as a kid and being so pleasantly blissful with all the brand new furniture around, it was always quiet with soft music playing in the store. Also everyone was nice. Idk why but I loved it as a kid and get a comfy feeling when I drive by one.
>>27168666
Also this who album gives me an eerie and nostalgic feeling, it's comfy and not at the same time, weird.
