Their Live Shit Seattle show was great, Jason Newstead singing the chorus at the end is really awesome.
I like classic heavy metal, prog rock, hard rock, blues rock, psychedelic rock, pirate metal, thrash metal, hair metal.
Basically anything that isn't just roaring into a mic like the cookie monster with some poor high singing thrown in for contrast.
I think as you get older you appreciate other genres though. 80s pop is pretty good fun. As is a bit of Jazz, blues, rock n roll, classical, and Latin american/african stuff like Santana.
I still listen to Dio, Kansas, and Blue Oyster Cult daily though. That's like my bread n butter.

If I return to Catholicism, singing songs that praise the devil and reciting Dissections satanic lyrics isn't exactly how a Catholic should act.

Because that's the target audience the lyrical content is overly laced with profanity and emotion turning it into shit in my opinion. I have no problem with music that expresses emotion but I just feel like these metalcore artists do it in a very immature and uncreative way.

99% of symphonic bands hide behind their orchestras as a gimmick. If you were to replace either the metal elements with more classical, or vice-versa, and you were to find that the music songwriting fucking blows ass, then chances are the band is shit and just relying on a gimmick.
The ONLY symphonic band I like is Haggard. Nightwish and Epica and all the other popular ones write really boring stuff, but retards think they're "awesome" and "epic" because those same retards cannot get past the novelty of the exotic instrumentation.
I'm a huge fan of folk metal and people think I'm a snob when I try to explain why I love Eluveitie but hate Turisas.
