I did too. Interestingly I only went back to social circles when I wanted to develop my professional career. What I hate is that in some of the circles its easy enough to devolve the conversation back to business, but I've been lucky to find a few more good friends and keep older ones (even after my self-imposed isolation) to have the kind of company that's a lot more enjoyable - to be able to bullshit about everything
