I dated a girl who sounds like you for a couple of years, who was in shape and probably could've been an 8/10 if she tried.
She'd complain a lot about being lonely, and that nobody gave her attention. In the 3 years I dated her, she came home maybe five times saying "I was out doing X and Y hit on me", quite proud that somebody had taken interest in her.
Her problem was not being unattractive (though she had no idea how to dress herself, and the first time I saw her naked I was actually shocked at how hot she was). Her problem was that she wasn't good at social interaction. When I talked to her, I'd worry about how she'd react. Things were often awkward. I didn't feel safe saying a lot of things to her, especially about how I felt, because I thought she'd misunderstand or be offended or somehow hurt me. I think she projected this to everybody, because when we were together she'd always seem amazed at how friendly and forward everybody was around me. She said people basically didn't see her and she couldn't have conversations with people.
If this sounds like you, the problem is not with you being unattractive, or not having the right friends, or whatever you think differentiates you from Stacy. It's that you're not approachable. This is something you can learn with practice, without needing to be inherently extroverted or social. Just copy the mannerisms of people who seem to make friends effortlessly, and exit whenever you feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable.
This sort of thing applies to male robots too, by the way. Being approachable is a huge component of attractiveness and seems to be to be gender-neutral.
