Any other NEET's like me who are absolutely terrified of getting a job? I have a cousin who says he can get me a job at best buy, but I'm too afraid that I'm going to do terribly, and in return that will reflect badly on my cousin and possibly cost him his job.
Why is the real world so scary /r9k/?
>>
>>27099184
You could try talking to your cousin about it. Ask him what's involved in his job, where you're likely to have difficulty starting out. As first jobs go I'm guessing a big box store like Best Buy is going to be pretty awful, though. If I were you I'd try to find a job in a small mom & place where you know the folks who run things and they're laid back and understanding.

NEET reporting in
I've never worked a day in my life and have depended on mommy and daddy for anything. I've never even had house chores assigned to me ever since I can remember
I'm mentally and physically incapable of any kind of job that I know of and I have no interests in experiencing the horrors of the outside world and it's people
>>
Iv been out of work for a few months at a time and yes, it is pretty scary.

Just doing something and realizing id have to maintain appearance and work effectively for x hours made me anxious.
>>
>>27099260
He works in the video game department, and I'm assuming my job would be in the same section, so it wouldn't be as much big boxes
>>
>>27099184
It's normal to be anxious when you first start out. That's why experience trumps everything. Even Chad was shitting his pants on his first day of his first job.
>>
>>27099374
>Even Chad was shitting his pants on his first day of his first job
no
he was having a good time hitting on his Stacey coworker and getting paid for doing jackshit
i remember school group projects, i know how it works
>>
>>27099437
>School group projects
That's totally different from when Chad gets a real job and has an even Chadier boss that doesn't give a fuck about Chad's Chadliness. Trust me.

I'm not terrified of getting a job. I just don't want to be a wagecuck but my parents are forcing me to soon. I doubt anyone wants to hire a 6year old neet with little to no experience.
>>
>>27099483
I think child labor laws don't allow 6 year olds to work anon.
>>
>>27099483
Someone will hire you, you have to start at the bottom just like everyone else, unless you get shit handed to you.
Nobody wants to be a wagecuck, but you have to have an income to support yourself or you'll end up homeless, it's just how it is. You have to contribute somehow.
>>
>>27099541
Reread it again anon.

>>27099549
I've tried applying to shit jobs like Mcdonalds and Walmart and they won't even hire me
>>
what are the best starting position jobs?
>>
I had a hadnful of jobs in the past, enough to make me fight to be self employed, that's my ultimate goal.
I just can't find a job I feel comfy in,and I still feel anxious as fuck when getting a new one, it's like my anxiety never gets better, even if I had some experience
>>
>>27099587
Jobs like mcdonald's and stuff get flooded with tons and tons of applications. You need to apply to Mcdonald's, burger king, wendy's, subway, kfc, literally ALL of the options. Usually several times over the course of a few weeks. If an opening comes up and they've seen your application more than once you have a much much higher chance of being hired.

I started as a Janitor at a robotics company. I got the job through a friend who had gotten a new job and got me in as a replacement, but I recommend janitorial work to anyone starting out. You just sweep/mop/empty trash bins and stuf after the place is closed. You don't have to deal with people. You can listen to music. There's no boss breathing down your neck. It's great for starting off.

I was 16 when I got my first job at a shitty shoe store. I was lvl 99 autism at the time and absolutely dreaded any form of social interaction. I got out of my comfort zone and now im slightly less autistic. Overall that job helped me a lot and it will probably help you.
>>
>>27099706
Also keep an eye out for open interviews. I have been to 2 open interviews and have gotten the jobs for both of them.
>>
>>27099184
I'm more terrified for a job interview and trying to have to jump through hoops to get the job I'd be fine if I knew I just had the job but I literally shake and stutter in interviews I had two interviews last year I chose not to go to because I was to scared really wish I had a job but the crippling fear hurts so much.
>>
>>27099859
What's that?
xoxasa
>>
>>27099875
Interviews are really not as bad as people make them seem. They ask you basic shit about yourself. A good boss will understand if you're nervous.
>>
>>27099184
I'm actually quite looking forward to getting a job. Just not looking forward to the 2 mile long lonely walk there if I actually do get one.
>>

How do I get an IT job in Australia they all want years of experience etc should I get some certs?
>>
>>27099949
Start running. By the time you can run ~5 miles you could jog there and hardly break a sweat.
Or ride a bike.
>>
>>27099875

Same. Try a hiring company, that's how I got my job
>>
>>27099977
That's a good idea. I even might prefer running over biking assuming I'm not carrying anything.

I'm fairly confident I'm quite unemployable. I'm overweight, socially inept, have messy hair and my left arm is full of self-harm marks. Getting a job terrifies me, but I'm not sure who would hire me in the first place.
>>
>>27100056
Do it, I hate running but it makes you feel pretty good after the first week or so
>>
>>27099587
If you want an easy to get shit job then walmart is the place to go. Apply for both overnight stocker/unloader positions and they'll hire you.

Working at walmart as a unloader was my first job at 18 with no experience or job references. They'll hire anybody as long as a position is open, but that job sucked major ass. I deliver pizzas now.

>Any other NEET's like me who are absolutely terrified of getting a job?
me. i worked last summer with my father together on one job and i couldnt handle the situation atleast for a minute when he left somewhere. i want to earn money, to buy anything i want (or atleast can afford) but im scared shitless about working. huge responsibility (which can lead to serious problems), always perform the best, boss' shouting makes me almost cry (because i know it is my fault), puzzled pretty often. working 2hours in and already think about how great is it coming home after long-ass working hours.

>boss' shouting makes me almost cry
can i get an explanation for this feel?
i literally start holding back tears when being directly shout at by someone who's angry at me.
especially when im trying to do my best and not to get anyone's attention

im not sure why as well. i was always crying kid throughout my whole childhood (even when i was 16/17). parents were shouting at me if i did something wrong and i always started crying. they thought i was doing this because i wanted to "look innocent" or some shit (english not native). in 5th/6th grade teacher shouted at me a bit for not understanding shit at maths (because lazy) and i shed a tear. thank fuck im not from america so no one really bullied me or laughed at. sometimes when parents just tried to explain something and I KNEW i did completely wrong i started to cry again.
according to personality tests im INFP, so i guess it explains everything - feels overwhelm everything
whats even more weird is im as big guy as a bigfoot (also fat) and crying for me is far more shameful
>>
>>27099184
With enough thought, anything can seem like a bad idea. Turn those thoughts around, don't let fear control you. If you can't do that, at least believe that even though it might feel like a bad idea, it probably isn't, and that you aught to do it.

ayy lmao, brother

I did some minor household chores like vacuuming and putting the laundry into the machine and filling/emptying the dishwasher, but not much else. Dad bought me an apartment some four years ago and been living on my own since. He pays for my living out of guilt I think. I can somewhat take care of myself but been drinking a lot the last two years so everything's a mess.

I've never done the laundry or cleaned the house in my life. Small things like these make me feel even more unprepared for the outside world
At least your dad can feel some guilt. Mine just keeps pretending it's all my fault because 'i don't try hard enough' and im just being lazy.

Not a NEET but I'm also terrified of getting a job. It's not the interview that's scary but what happens afterwards. I'm going to be terrible at it and always worry about whether it'll get fired eventually or something. I just don't think I'm capable of jobs that you'd expect an engineering grad to do and wouldn't mind if I had to resort to shit ones for life.
>>
>>27099184
it's been a few years now.. I hope I find a job I can handle, and where I don't need to interact with people

Turned from NEET to wagecuck a month and a half ago. You can't really do badly OP, but working sucks and you won't make much.
>>
I'm a NEET now but have worked for many years before this. A job at BestBuy is easy-tier, you'll be coasting in no time.
>>
>>27099184
At least try it, bestbuy is much better then wal mart or fast food
